1970 Ford Mustang Additional Info:
This is a very rare 1970 428 Mach 1 "Q Code" originally equipped with Fords mighty 428 Cobra Jet Big Block engine and factory Hurst shifted top loader 4 speed. AZ and inland CA based car in outstanding cosmetic and mechanical condition with only 3 known owners, odometer shows 13,800 and actual mileage is believed to be 113,800. Was told by previous owner that engine is a 1970 428 CID FE big block that was a replacement to the original engine, the ID number stamped under the right head in the back of this engine is "0Z581600" which is a 1970 FE so date of engine matches car. This current engine was professionally rebuilt about 5000 miles ago with Elderbrock Aluminum heads, Edelbrock intake, Crower roller cam and roller rockers, Edelbrock 800 carb, Pertronix billet electronic distributor with MSD box, Lemans aluminum valve covers. With 10.5 to 1 compression this big block Mustang runs very strong on premium pump gas. 9 inch rear end with factory staggered shocks and a new True Trac limited slip carrier with 3.50-1 gears.
The following work and upgrading was recently completed in the last few months on this fantastic muscle car, have receipts and documentation for all parts and work.
1. Complete professional overhaul of the original top loader 4 speed transmission, original transmission to the car and has the correct ID tag, this is the optional close ratio top loader with the high performance large input and output shafts, this transmission shifts like new into all gears. Original Ford ID tag is stilled riveted to transmission which reads "RUG AEZ 014995" (Transmission is under warranty from overhaul shop)
2. New high quality steel flywheel, new Superior Clutch Kit with high horsepower rated Kevlar clutch disc and pressure plate, new ARP hi-strength clutch and flywheel bolts (Clutch is under warranty from manufacturer)
3. New Modern Driveline hydraulic clutch conversion kit installed. This kit eliminates the obsolete Z-Bar manual clutch linkage and replaces it with a all new hydraulic system. This state of the art and race quality system vastly improves clutch action, feel and reduces pedal effort. (Hydraulic clutch system under warranty from manufacturer)
4. New JBA Big Block Ford stainless steel full length headers ($$$) New Magnaflow stainless steel full exhaust system with X-pipe and new S.S. Magnaflow mufflers. This is one great sounding exhaust system, not over loud but when you get into it you will know there is some serious horse power under the hood! Original style stainless steel exhaust tips. (Exhaust system and mufflers under warranty from Magnaflow).
5. New Griffin 3 core aluminum radiator ($$$) with flex fan, new hoses, thermostat and coolant. This cooling system upgrade keeps the car running cool even in 100 degree plus weather. New March billet aluminum drive pulley kit. New belts (Griffin Radiator under warranty from manufacturer)
6. New Eaton True Trac rear end gear carrier. This all gear, no clutch positraction unit replaced the old Detroit Locker carrier and is much more street friendly. The 3:50 gears and everything else in the rear end were inspected and found to be in perfect shape. New seals installed. This 9 inch, 28 spline / big tube axle, staggered shock rear end is believed to be original to the car. This Mach 1 hooks up straight and pulls hard! (Eaton True Trac carrier is under warranty manufacturer)
7. New Borgenson power steering gear and power steering pump kit. This modern power steering kit replaced the old worn out manual steering gear and provides a tremendous improvement in the driving experience. This car has near flawless sheet metal with laser straight doors and body panels with no known rust or body repairs. The under chassis appears to be all original with no repairs or rust. This body and chassis is about as good as it gets to an all original, un-restored example of classic American Muscle.

The Deluxe Marti report (included with sale) shows this car to be one 1 of only 320 1970 Mach 1, Q code, 428 engine, four speed cars built making this one of the rarest Mustang Mach 1's ever produced. This classic American Muscle car retains an original look but with the engine, drivetrain and other upgrades has much superior performance and comfort to a stock car, it is a real kick and thrill to drive and will out perform any stock big block Mustang.
