This 1966 Ford F-100 almost feels like a Mustang with a pickup bed. Everything from the 289 V8 under the hood to the cherry red paint makes this one feel like classic pony car that's also ready to earn its keep.Because this one doesn't show a lifetime of working 9 to 5, you can really see the nice intricate sheetmetal that came on these fourth generation F-Series trucks. Ford did an amazing job in '66 with a bright chrome grille, little fender flare in the front, power dome hood, and a sweeping line of brightwork that runs from the front all the way down through the styleside bed. Painted a deep red with a modern clearcoat and plenty of metallic element, it has stellar appearance in the sunlight. Plus, there are bright bumpers, bold red I-beam badging, dual exhaust, original style hubcaps, and bold F-O-R-D leading the way. So is this a pickup or a custom street rod? The bed probably answers this question best. It has a spray-in bed liner that's ready for Home Deport runs, and it's also been given a custom padded lock box and rolling black vinyl cover for added flair. So this much versatility should tell you it's great for work AND play. You'll love showing off the red and black theme on the interior. Plus, it has cool details like the black bench that has comfortable cloth inserts for the driver and passenger and a removable center console so you can decide between individual comfort and seating for three. You'll love opening the vent windows, the sliding rear one, and just letting the breeze pass through the cab in the perfect vintage pickup way. You'll grab the three-spoke sports steering wheel, and just ahead of that are the original gauges upgraded with a machine-turned surround and provisions for a tach. You know this is a serious performance pickup with the auxiliary gauges and ratchet shifter. But to keep everyone else entertained there's an AM/FM/cassette stereo with auxiliary input to adapt to more modern music players.Another place this feels like a Mustang pickup is under the hood. It has the legendary 289 cubic-inch V8 in the engine bay. Not only does it look good with the bright valve covers and air cleaner, but it also has plenty of performance goodies like a classic Carter AFB Competition Series carburetor, Edelbrock intake, and headers. The full package makes plenty of power to get you down the road in a hurry, and the sound out of the glasspack style dual exhaust is hypnotic. No matter how you decide to use this pickup, you'll enjoy features like the three-speed automatic transmission, comfortable but sturdy twin I-beam front suspension, front disc brakes, and the superior grip of modern Uniroyal radial tires. This is your opportunity to pay a little and get a lot. Vintage pickups are hot, and this well-sorted and stylish F-100 is well within any budget. Call today!!!
