1927 Ford Model T Pickup Additional Info:

This fun little runabout was built by a friend. It is a 1927 Ford Model T Roadster Pickup mounted to a Model A frame and drivetrain. Everything works as it should. Has new tires, new brakes (yes mechanical), carb was recently gone thru and works perfectly. All the electrical is up to snuff, updated to an alternator, headlights, running lights and brake light work fine. Nothing wrong with this little truck. Features an early Dodge Brothers grill surround, but maintains the original radiator. Fuel tank is still in the cowl and was recently repaired via brass soldering (fuel tank was given a caustic bath at that time and is squeaky clean).

If you go in for this type of thing, this is YOUR truck, and you should bid with confidence, as you aren't about to find one as thoroughly gone through mechanically.

The Ford Model T was produced from 1908 to 1927 and is generally regarded as the first affordable automobile. By the end of the production run, more than 15 million Ford Model T’s were produced in five states and eleven countries.

Model T production was the first to use the assembly line, cutting a cars production time from 12.5 hours to 93 minutes per car. Every three minutes, a new Model T was coming off the production line. By the time Ford had produced its 10 millionth Model T, more than 50% of the cars in the world were Fords. The only car manufacturer to produce more single model cars than the Ford Model T was Volkswagen and their Beetle, surpassing Ford’s record on February 17, 1972.

The Model T had a four cylinder engine producing 20 horsepower with a top speed of 45 miles per hour and could run on gasoline, kerosene, or ethanol. The Model T transmission had two forward speeds and a reverse gear as well as adjustment levers on the steering wheel.

The Model T was produced in 15 body styles, including a chassis only for independent coach builders, many of which were still producing carriages in the early years of the automobile. In April 1925, Ford started producing pickups, officially called a Ford Model T Runabout with Pick Up Body.
