NOTE -------- PRICE REDUCED ----------- UP FOR AUCTION WE HAVE THIS 1955 THUNDERBIRD THAT I WOULD CALL A GOOD DAILY DRIVER . I TOOK TOOK THIS CAR IN ON TRADE AND IT SURE IS FUN TO DRIVE. . IT HAS 78,916 MILES ON THE SPEEDOMETER . WITH THAT SAID I WILL NOW GIVE A DISCRIPTION OF THIS CAR . FIRS, THE GOOD NEWS . THIS CAR RUNS AND DRIVES FINE . MOTOR RUNS PERFECT WITH NO SMOKING . TRANS SHIFTS GREAT .A VERY SMALL AMOUNT OF PLAY IN THE STEERING . NOT BAD . BRAKES WORK FINE . THIS CAR HAS A 292 ENGINE . AUTOMATIC TRANS . NEW BATTER, NEW PLUGS AND POINTS . POWER STEERING . POWER BRAKES . POWER WINDOWS WORK GREAT . POWER SEAT WORKS GREAT .TELESCOPIC STREERING WHEEL WORKS GREAT . INTERIOR IS ALMOST PERFECT.THIS CAR ALSO COMES WITH BOTH THE SOFT TOP AND THE HARDTOP . DOORS OPEN AND CLOSE REAL NICE . NO SAGGING . HOOD AND TRUNK OPENS AND CLOSES FINE . TIRES ARE AT ABOUT HALF TREAD . GLASS IS ALL GOOD . NO CRACKS OR FOGGING .THERE IS A BUNCH OF NEW MISC GASKETS AND RUBBER SEALS IN THE TRUNK . ALL LITTLE BADGES AND DASH KNOBS ARE THERE . I DON'T SEE ANY THING MISSING BUT I COULD BE OVER LOOKING SOME THING SMALL . NOW THE BAD NEWS . THIS CAR NEEDS A PAINT JOB . THE PAINT IS CHIPPING AND SPIDER WEBBING IN PLACES . ONE DENT IN THE HEADER PANEL ABOVE THE GRILL .THE GRILL IS FINE. NOT BROKE .THE REST OF THE BODY LOOKS PRETTY GOOD . THERE IS ONLY ONE SMALL AREA THAT I SEE NEEDS A SMALL REPAIR . THAT AREA IS THE FOOT AREA ON DRIVERS SIDE . ITS NOT REAL BAD AND USABLE THE WAY IT IS . SOME ONE HAS CUT OFF THE FRONT TIPS OF ALL SIX FLOOR BRACES . THE FLOORMETAL AROUND THESE BRACES LOOKS FINE WITH GOOD SOLID METAL BUT THE BRACETIPS HAVE BEEN REMOVED .THE AREA OF THE BRACES WHERE IT MOUNTS TO THE FLOOR AND FRAME ARE IN FINE SHAPE .OTHER THEN THE ONE DISCRIBED ARE, THE REST OF THE FLOORS AND TRUNK LOOK PRETTY GOOD . FRAME LOOKS FINE . I TOOK A MAGNET AROUND THIS CAR AND THE MAGNET STICKS ON ASLL PANELS .THERE MAY POSSIBLY BE SOME FILLER IN THIS CAR GIVEN ITS AGE BUT I DON'T THINK IT WOULD BE MUCH . LOOKS LIKE THIS CAR MAY HAVE BEEN UNDER COATED WHEN IT WAS NEW BACK IN 55 .THE RADIO DOESN'T PLAY BUT THAT IS PROBABLY THE OLD VIBRATOR .THE POWER BRAKE BOOSTER IS IN THE TRUNK . I ASSUME THAT IT WILL NEED A REPAIR .THE HARDTOP IS IN GREAT SHAPE .THE SOFT TOP IS ALSO IN GREAT SHAPE BUT THE TOP MATERIAL HAS A SMALL TARE IN THE WELTING ON BOTH SIDE, AS AN ADDED NOTE ------------ I HAVE A FOLDER THAT CAME WITH THIS CAR . IT HAS MANY THINGS IN IT . ONE ITEM IS IT HAS THE ORIGINAL SALES SLIP FROM THE FORD DEALER SHIP THAT SOLD THIS CAR NEW IN 1955 . I ALSO HAVE A GOOD TITLE WITH THIS CAR . EMAIL ANY QUESTIONS BEFORE YOU BID .WE THINK THIS IS A FAIR ASKING PRICE WHICH IS BELOW CURRENT MARKET VALUE . CURRENT MARKET VALUE FOR ONE IN THIS SHAPE IS BETWEEN 23,00 AND 27,00 . OTHER THEN NEEDED A PAINT JO, THIS CAR HAS GREAT POTENTIAL . PICK UP AT MY SHOP IN SAUK CIT, WISCONSIN OR ARRANGE TRANSPORT . DA, 608 ) 963 0090 -----------
