1947 Ford Tudor Sedan Additional Info:
This is my car that I was never gonna sell. I've had a lot of cars but from the day I started getting parts to put this car together, I knew I would keep it forever. Well, you know what they call life, and it's getting me right now. I am getting choked up just writing this. This car took 3 years to build. It is the nicest car I have ever had. Starting at the bottom, it rides on a custom, narrowed Monte Carlo chassis. That makes all the suspension easy to keep up to spec without any expensive or hard to find parts. I spent over $8000 on a John Barret built 350 Chevrolet motor and a 70r4 transmission. Nice cam gives both excellent performance as well as great sound. The carburetor is an Edelbrock and could use a little adjusting, it runs great but I haven't really driven the car more then a couple times a year for the last few years. Exhaust is a 2.5 inch with dual 2 chamber flomasters. Has a Walker radiator (over $800)with an electric fan. Headers are both wrapped and ceramic coated. I'm sure I'm missing something here, just ask.The interior is tan and blur leatherette, front seat was a new unit from Glide (I think). Has A/C but I never hooked up all the vents or the belt. Everything was polished, brand new, just never needed it. Polished tilt column with nice banjo wheel. Dash has been filled, then new gauge holes added. If your familiar with these cars, everybody puts round gauges in the stock square holes and they always look bad. These are awesome. Guys who own 46-48 Fords are always amazed as this extra detail. Gauges are Autometer, with an electric speedometer. These were expensive too, but since I was planning to have this thing forever, it didn't matter.Battery is in trunk. Side trim is 1941 (ribbed) headlight rings are 1942 Grill bars are 1946 turn lenses are amber taillights are LED Wheels are Wheel Vintique Artillery wheels, 15x5, and 15x8 with 35 center caps and 39 mid caps. Painted to match the car. narrow ribbed trim rings match the headlight and side trim. Coker wide white wallsbig and littles.Original Sunray Visor (it bolts on and it removable). Hand done two color pinstriping very tastefully done.I spent months thinking about every nut and bolt on this car before we ever began. I sourced parts from everywhere, used up all my favors from my friends and made things nobody else has done for this car. I don't want to sell it and I'm probably going to have to hold back tears when you come and get it.I have sold a number of old hot rods and whatnot on Ebay, every car has gone for a good home and I have always had great feedback. This car is nicer then any of those. Usually I build one knowing Ill drive it for a season and then sell it, but not this one. I cant stress enough this one was built for me.
A word about trades: 1. if I didn't need cash I would not be selling. If you want to trade me something, your gonna still need at least half in cash. Also, I am already selling my boat, houseboat, motorcycle, and jet ski so don't bother trying to get me to trade for your please. The only thing I would consider would be a REALLY nice Volkswagen. It would have to be amazing, and complete, running driving etc and even then I need cash so no even trades. Also, I'm not driving out to see you, you would need to bring me the car for inspection first. If you arent prepared to haul your ride out here, and possibly haul it back if its not what you say it is, don't bring it. Sorry to be so harsh on this but I always get crazy swap offers when I list something.
If you have any questions please ask me.
