The Ford Fairlane mid size was so popular, the company decided to give customers the choice of upgrading to the Torino and then theultimate Torino GT.
This very original 1968 is a Torino GT with the desirable big block 390 and equipped with bucket seats and a floor shift. The engine originally had a 2 barrel, but now has a 4 barrel. It is a cosmetic project that runs and drives and is full of potential.
The engine was rebuilt by the previous owner and has very few miles on it although it sat for many years. Included with the car is a handwritten journal of many years of maintenance. It has had the following recent work done:

• New fuel tank
  
• Rebuilt carburetor
• New fuel lines
• New fuel sending unit
• New brake soft lines
• New rear wheel cylinders
• New battery

The 390 engine runs strong and does not leak, smoke or overheat. It has plenty of power-see the video.....It still could use some sorting to be a daily driver. There is a bit of a stumble at low rpms when it is cold. The transmission shits through the gears smoothly and properly. The power steering is good and the brakes function as they should. The tires are old and need to be replaced before driving any significant amount.
The body on the car is excellent. It has never been hit and has never been painted. The right rear tail light surround was replaced some time ago and is dark green. The original seafoam green has faded and sunburned off of the hood and the left front fender horizontal surface. There is surface rust there. The rest of the original paint is thin as can be seen in the photos. There is absolutely zero rust or bondo on the entire car. The bottoms of the rockers are razor straight and the floors, etc. are mint as can be seen in the underside photos.
Original paint still covers the inside of the trunk area. The door and hood/trunk gaps are all excellent. The grill/headlight trim is nice and straight as are the bumpers.
The interior is all original and needs refurbishment. The headliner sags, the front seats are ripped and the dash is peeling. The console and gauges are good and the seat back and fore/aft adjustments are working. The car has factory air conditioning that is not functioning but is all there.
The lights function and so do the turn signals, but the lever is floppy and one or the other turn signals tends to stay on. There is no radio. A correct spare GT wheel (with tire) and original jack are included in the trunk.
This Torino GT 390 is on a current non-op and there is a clear California title in my name.
