Additional Info:
- This is a structurally and mechanically sound Ford Econoline Van built on the sought-after E-300 1-ton chassis. This vehicle features a verified camper conversion by Open Road Industries, Inc., a premier name in 1970s RV manufacturing and a proud member of the Trailer Coach Association.
Mechanical Profile:
- Chassis: Heavy-duty E-300 platform with an 7,000 GVWR for superior stability.
- Powertrain: 302 CID V8 engine paired with a robust 3-speed automatic Cruise-O-Matic transmission.
- Authenticity: Retains original coachbuilder badging and period-correct technical layout.
Interior Systems:
- Includes the original Open Road layout: kitchenette with stove, sink, and furnace. Ideal for a collector seeking an "underappreciated survivor" for a period-correct restoration.
Exterior Body: A rare Open Road Coach conversion, on a 1973 Ford E 300 Econoline chassis.
- Original body metal and extended fiberglass top.
- The exterior driver and passenger door shells are mostly solid but there is rust through at the bottom half of the door skin. You can buy Lower Outer Door Skins at Mill Supply.

- The front fender extensions and areas at the front window will require body and paint repair.
It is being Sold as a "highly original" virtually unmodified survivor. It is licensed, runs well and has a clear title. Odometer reads 13600. We are the second owners and this van was used by a couple every summer to vacation on the Central Coast of California. I used it for camping and surfing. All appliances operate. Electrical, water and propane all working. It includes a shower/porta potty closet. You need to acquire your own porta-potty.
