Galaxie project car with 460 and C-6 conversion.First, if anyone wants to see this car, they are welcome almost anytime with prior notice. I have a lift in my garage, and they are welcome to go over every square inch, top, bottom, underneath, inside... no surprises for anyone.
The Car; The body was taken off the frame and the frame was fully boxed for uber strength; the body bushings were replaced at that time. Electric top works as it should and the top itself has no rips, tears, but the pads are falling. Interior is OK with no rips or tears in the seats and door panels do the job, but are not original. Car has all new brakes (front disc), rear drum, lines, hoses, master cylinder and proportioning valve by Wilwood and they work great. All new front suspension including upper and lower control arm bushings, ball joints, Eaton springs and performance shocks. Power Steering has new electric conversion and new steering box and hoses. Outer tie rod ends are new. Rear Suspension is fully adjustable system from Spohn Performance Engineering including control arms and Panhard bar, also with Eaton springs and performance shocks. Autometer gauges very nicely retro fitted into dash and show a healthy motor with great oil PSI, 13.8v charge and stays under 200 degrees. The Engine: Built 460 and C-6 were from a 1971 Lincoln and have approximately 50 miles on them after the proper break-in. Vacuum is at 17 inch Hg and steady. Sealed Power pistons (don't know cr), very street friendly cam kit including non-roller hydraulic lifters and springs. I do not know the numbers. New adjustable roller rockers with Ford Performance Super Cobra Jet aluminum heads, Torker intake, Holley 600 on it and comes with an 850 dbl pumper for rebuild. New Ford Performance high volume oil pump and distributor drive gear, timing chain, gears, etc. Looks like ARP bolts used on rods, mains and heads. HEI distributor, spark plug wires all new. Aluminum radiator and electric fan are more than adequate. C-6 has been rebuilt with new stock converter, high-performance flex plate and is using a Lokar Shifter and Dakota digital indicator (indicator needs to be calibrated). March Performance Pulley's and adjustable brackets turn a Powermaster Performance one wire alternator and a Powermaster Hi-torque mini starter turns the beast over without effort. Ive added a separate fuse control panel (see pictures) for the electric steering, electric fan and any other electrical needs in the future. The Body; This is a Florida car and has not experienced northern snow rust. However, it did suffer from Florida (not a very dry climate) rust. With some previous owner, one rear floor pan has been replaced as was the trunk (see pictures). Not going to win a beauty contest but strong and functional. I think there was rust repair in one quarter in the usual area for southeast cars. Door(s) starting to show very small bubbles at bottom, outside. Photo of left front fender, bottom is not rust. Looks like a jack stand mishap to me. As can be seen, the hood was opened up for the classic bubble and needs to be cleaned up, top and bottom, but no rust. All in all, an excellent project with most of the mechanicals complete, with just parts in this project adding up to well over $12k. I doubt the motor alone could be built for that. A great cruiser with some body work, paint and nice rims. Why am I selling? I have five other classics, one being a convertible 7-Liter Galaxie, and we are moving... I can't save all the puppies as much as I want to.
