1971 Ford F-250 Custom Styleside — Drive It or Build It, This One's Ready

Born in October 1970 at the Kansas City assembly plant, this honest, patina-rich F-250 has lived a real working life across Colorado, New Mexico and Arizona — and it shows in all the right ways. I picked it up in 2022, and have been improving it ever since. It's ready to hit the road as-is or serve as the foundation for your dream restomod build.

Drivetrain & Mechanicals — The replacement 390ci V8 got a serious rebuild in December 2023 — new block, intake/exhaust manifolds, carburetor, timing components, radiator, water pump, and starter. Add a new fuel pump (February 2024), fresh fuel line and filter (April 2025), and a fully re-wired cabin with a modernized fuse box (2023), and you've got a truck that's mechanically ready to go. The Borg-Warner 3-speed manual with overdrive makes it a joy to drive around town and on the highway, with a fresh carrier bearing and kick-down solenoid replaced April 2025.

Suspension & Steering — Replaced from Stem to Stern Front coil springs, shocks, bushings, and brake master cylinder were all replaced in 2022. Power steering pump replaced October 2023, tie rod ends April 2025, and a Rancho steering stabilizer keeps things planted. Power-assisted drums at all four corners mean confident, reliable stopping power.

Interior — Surprisingly Clean The cabin got a serious refresh in September 2025 — re-padded and re-covered bench seat in sharp white and teal vinyl, matching repainted door panels, fresh headliner, and new carpeting. It's comfortable, clean, and full of that classic truck charm. Center console with cup holders and phone charger, 3-point seatbelts, rubber mats, and sun visors round things out. The odometer shows 39k miles - not sure what the actual total is, but only roughly 3k added on the rebuilt motor. Heater box rebuilt October 2025, and the horn was fixed in April 2025.

The Patina Is Real — So Are a Few To-Dos This is a truck that's earned its character. Cab mounts show rust, and there's corrosion on various underbody components as pictured — totally expected and part of the appeal on a vintage work truck like this, with the patina to match. The driver's vent window doesn't close fully, window washer nozzles and felts need replacing, the radio is nonfunctional, and the heater lever is broken (though a replacement control panel is included). The driver's side floorboard has a welded patch that is solid but could be replaced at your discretion. None of this is deal-breaking — it's just the honest to-do list on a classic that's been out living its best life.

The Bottom Line Teal paint, chrome bumper, Styleside bed, General Grabber STX tires on 16" orange steelies, and a 390 thumping under the hood — this F-250 has presence. Drive it to shows, cruise it on weekends, or strip it down and build something legendary. Comes with a full binder of literature and manuals, service records, and a clean Arizona title. I picked up another classic that is taking all my time so this one is priced to sell. Trucks like this don't come around often, especially at this price — don't sleep on it.
