1966 Ford Mustang Additional Info:

Offered for sale is a highly original 1966 Ford Mustang Convertible, a true California car built at the San Jose, CA plant with just under 96,000 original miles.

This Mustang was purchased from the original owner nearly 35 years ago and has remained with its second owner ever since up until now. It has never seen winter conditions and has rarely been driven in the rain. This is one of the cleanest original undercarriages you will ever encounter. This car has never had rust, not patched, not hidden, not repaired. It is that solid. The frame rails are absolutely spotless. It has all original ford body panels except for a new front valance and taillight panel. Originally light blue metallic, but it was going to be changed over to the rare 1966 mustang color Emberglow.

Current Condition & Restoration Status

This is not your average project MustangThis vehicle deserves a proper, high-level restoration. This mustangis an exceptionally solid California car waiting to be restored the right way.

The engine ran well prior to removal. It was pulled to clean and detail the engine compartment in preparation for a full restoration and has since been set back in place. If restoring to a very high standard, we would recommend removing and going through the drivetrain simply for perfection — though it is not believed to require major mechanical work. Paint work and full reassembly are required.

Given the extraordinary condition of the undercarriage and structure, this car warrants a complete, factory-correct restoration. If we were restoring it in-house, the drivetrain would be removed, the undercarriage media blasted, refinished properly, and reassembled using factory-correct hardware throughout. It is that good — and it deserves to be done right.

Included Parts.The Mustang comes with:

  • All removed original parts
  • New emberglow carpeting
  • New heater plenum
  • New kick panels
  • New emberglow quarter trim upholstery
  • Misc. new interior trim pieces.
  • Brand new parchment Pony door panels with stainless trim
  • New top boot
  • New Emberglow & parchment seat upholstery (professionally installed)
  • A bunch of additional miscellaneous new parts misc. chrome, light housing etc etc.
  • Original California Titl, and California Smog inspection included (a very cool bonus piece of history)
