This Ford Mustang, often referred to by enthusiasts as the “1964 1/2” model, is the original pony car that debuted on April 17, 1964, at the New York World Fair. It was a instant hit, selling 22,000 units on the first day. Here is an original 1964.5 Ford Mustang Coupe D Code 289 four barrel V8, it was purchased for his elder wife and went thru a restoration process over a period of time. When they got a hold of it it in the early 2000’s it was a very original solid car.
Paired with it’s 289 V8 and automatic transmission, the Mustang runs and drives in exceptional condition. Has AC & power steering. Lights & gauges in working condition. I have a binder with records ofservice & maintenance from over the decades from previous & last ownership. Plenty of services done thru out it’s life including full transmission service, front end work, replace of all tie rods, motor mounts, coil springs, tune ups & the list goes on.. Had the radiator replaced with most recent work done as well was a new fuel pump installed & brake work done.
Mustang underwent a driver restoration & re-painted in 2008, although the re-paint is older it’s still shows nicely & very presentable. It was mostly being driven on weekends, &it still grabs plenty of attention, looking good in person as it does in pictures. Solid bones including original body panels & clean rust free undercarriage / floors & frame. In 2017 Mustang was stored away parked in the garage up until recently we got it out, & up & running again with the normal steps in doing so. Mustang is not perfect nor a trailer queen, but in a nice driver quality condition. It was persevered well from being garaged, but you’ll notice the normal minor blemishes that comes with age.This is not a rusty patched together Mustang but ones that’s been always serviced, garaged & maintained throughout it’s life.
