1969 Ford Mustang MACH 1 351 4V Additional Info:

1969 MUSTANG MACH 1351 4 BARREL, A/C, COMPLETELY ORIGINAL RUNNING SURVIVOR GARAGE FIND
The Mustang is an American icon. From June of 1964 until the present, the Mustang has gone through many iterations, but one of the best of all time is the first year Mach 1 from 1969. Ford phased out the GT option on the Mustang while offering the Mach 1 package. The Mach 1 was only available as a fastback or "Sportroof" as Ford called it. Upgrades in the Mach 1 included front discs, faux wood grain dashappliqués, high back deluxe bucket seats, stripes, a super cool hood scoop, hood pins and optional hood blackout.
This example is a very rare find. It is completelyoriginal. It has never been painted restored, or reupholstered. It has been sitting in a carport in Southern California since 1984. It was sold new in Upland, CA.
This Mach 1 351 4 barrel (M code) was ordered in Pastel Grey with red upholstery. It is a very rare color combination and according to the Marti Report only 516 Mach 1s came this way. It also has factory air conditioning-an extremely desirable option. The original paint shows no signs of it ever having louvers or a spoiler. You will rarely see a Mach 1 with a factory tachometer-this one has it.
The car is presented here in its "as found" condition. It is completely original from the bullet mirrors to the hubcaps and trim rings. It has not been cleaned. You can see how complete and intact the entire car is. Forget about rust-there isn't any. The door and fender gaps are factory perfect. The original paint is worn through in a couple of areas but it really has a great patina rarely found on such cars. There is one spot on the driver's door where an area of about 12" x 12" has been sprayed. There's no bondo there.
The upholstery is also completely original and intact. There are a couple of splits invarious places. The headliner is torn and sagging. The steering wheel, gauges and center console are excellent. The carpets are very good.
The original matching numbers 351 4 barrel Windsor engine runs on a fuel iv. The video is the very first startup and the engine sounds great, nice and tight and it immediately idled with no throttle. Please see photos of the matching engine number in the gallery.
If you are a discerning buyer and recognize the outstandingoriginality of this Mach 1, then this is the car for you. Finding a shiny, previously rusted, bondo'd, tarted up, "restored" one is fairly easy. There are ones like that to be had in the $80,000 range. They didn't start with a car like this. This is an opportunity toacquire somewhat of a unicorn-a well optioned Mach 1 that is COMPLETELY original and unmolested for about half that price. You just don't find them like this anymore.
