The 1993 Ford Taurus Wagon GL was a quintessential American family vehicle at that time. Know for its comfortable ride, spaciousness & functional design. Here is this one being offered with only 11k actual mileage! This wagon is in remarkable condition & has a great story .. A time capsule that gives a nostalgia rewind button from the past
History- Original owner Mr. Day had his heart set on the Taurus Wagon line, looking for a wagon solely used for taking the family on trips, he purchased this Taurus new at his local Cerritos Ford dealership.
Thru the first 10 years he averaged around 1k miles a year, unfortunately in 2003 he had gotten ill & passed. Thru the next 20 years it would be stored away sitting in there garage, not being driven. In 2002his wife had passed as well and the daughter decided to sell the familys estate & move to Texas. The Taurus had still resided in the garage never leaving the state of California. The long time friend / neighbor of the family always had his eyes on the Taurus mentioned that he would like to purchase the wagon, so she decided to sell it to them instead of her taking it to Texas.
Mechanically - Has its 3.8 Fuel Injected V6 & automatic transmission. 11,740 Original Mileage! Mileage are documented thru a clean Carfax report that I have on hand, with a working functional odometer.Preparation to get it running again was a new gas tank installed, new fuel pump, oil changed, replaced radiator fluid & cap, new air filter, new brake pads installed & etc.. Since it’s been pulled out of the garage & had the work been done it’s only been driven a hand full of miles since.
The Taurus engine is sound & in great running condition.Transmission shifts & brakes fine. No smoking or any issues of concern.It starts up, runs & sounds as what you would expect from a low mileage vehicle! Still has the original set of tires on it from new! Although neat to see, the tires are weather cracked & would need a new set of tires & a balance before Taurus should start being used on the road. AC works great & gets cold. Gas gauge does not work.
Condition- Taurus is as original as it gets including all original factory paint & interior. No accidents or repaint. Residing in California since it’s been sold new, it’s what you would expect of a CA car being super solid & of course rust free. In remarkable shape for its age but expect some normal wear for a car that is 33 years, some minor chips & scratches around (front bumper scratches), some fading (original pinstripe faded on driver fender) this issues are all very minor. Undercarriage & floors are very clean & dry.
Interior - Interior is original & in amazing condition for being that, the feel of the firm seats, headliner looks terrific, dash is in unbelievable shape, seat belts chrome & detail of the wording & lettering on interior buttons are clear & look new! Just the feel of the doors opening & shutting with a ping noise & the jambs being super clean. It’s details like that what makes you appreciate a low mileage blast from the past. With the exception of a few minor carpet stain spots the rest of carpet looks terrific.
If you have second thoughts of the mileage, once you see the photos &see the conditionyou would not doubt the mileage for a second. The original exhaust muffler looks super clean, window sticker on driver door panel still in place, under the dash the condition of the wiring, gas and brake pedalslooks in remarkable condition. Radio, all lights & power windows all in working condition.
Wagon is not restored, but in original condition with normal wear for its age.More pictures on hand if needed as well as the clean Carfax report I can send.Here’s a great opportunity to grab a rare low mileage wagon that majority of all the miles was driven by one elderly gentlemen.
