1966 Ford Mustang Additional Info:

You are looking at a true survivor. My elderly neighbor's late husband bought this Mustang Coupe for her new in 1966, and in the ensuing 50 years it has been her daily driver, during which time she has used it very sparingly, mainly commuting to her job a few miles away (before retiring) and the shops. So the mileage of just around 200,000 -- not reflected on the odometer, unfortunately, but according to her -- is original, as is everything about the car except for the few times she's had it painted. There is some surface bubbling (see photos), but not a speck of rust underneath -- thank you, Seattle, for not salting the roads. I apologize that I don't have access to a lift to take photos -- I will try to do that as soon as possible -- but trust me when I say it is remarkably free of the dreaded tin worm. Mechanically the car is excellent -- the engine runs perfectly (with that beautiful 289 burble), the transmission shifts smoothly (once warmed up), and the only items that don't work are the temperature gauge and radio (it's the original Ford AM unit). Unfortunately she has not saved many repair records, but you can tell by the car's condition and the way it drives that she has definitely taken care of it. That said, it is not a concours car by any means, but instead a totally original, matching numbers, genuine one-owner classic that you can either restore within an inch of its life or -- and this is what I would do -- enjoy it as is, with its gently used patina. Please note that this is not the usual "selling it for my (friend, brother, relative)" eBay thing -- she doesn't drive it anymore because her eyesight is failing, so she asked me to sell it for her. This is a honest-to-goodness "little old lady car" that I have been staring at for the 12 years I've lived across the street from this lovely woman, and believe me when I say that if I had the money I would buy it myself in half a heartbeat. Alas, I will leave it to some lucky eBay bidder to enjoy it. It's a true gem.
