You are bidding on a MK1 1975 Ford Transit. 2.4 York diesel with a 4 speed transmission.
The Good--
Legally imported to Texas from the U.K when new.
Runs and drives.
Shows either 12k or 19K miles(hard to read). I was told the mileage is actual by the last owner. Inner fenders point towards that being true. They have almost no paint chipping or road rash. Probably the cleanest unrestored Transit not in a museum.
100% rust free and original. It's a true time capsule. It's like it went from the assembly line straight to sitting in a field.
Full documentation of its build progress if you look up "MK1 Ford Transit in Texas. English F350".
I replaced the following to get it operational-
Timing belt and timing components.
Fuel pump and lines. Converted to electric pump.
Water pump and hoses.
Clutch cable.
Oil and filters.
There may be more but I've forgotten.
Engine runs smooth. No bad leaks(does drip a little), no abnormal smoke, doesn't seem to burn oil.
Transmission shifts great, no issues. Clutch is smooth, no slippage.
It drives great and is surprisingly comfortable. I use it as a yard truck for moving trailers.
Lights and wipers all work. They will need new switches though.
Truck sat in the New Mexico desert from 1991 til 2013.
Overall the truck is like it left the factory with the exception of the two cab lights. Sitting for decades likely saved it.
Parts are plentiful and easy to get.
I am willing to work with overseas buyers.
The Bad--
Needs brake work. Brakes don't work. I just use the parking brake to stop.
Interior needs to be gone though. It deteriorated in the desert sun. All the parts are available still.
Throttle cable is barely hanging on.
Rear tires are from the 80s? (maybe original?). Front tires are from 2013 with tubes stuffed in them.
Texas title is from the original owner I believe. The DMV ran the title and vin and it's all clear. I just don't have time to go through the process of transferring it. Title say its a '77(first year it was registered), Vin says '75. That's just how they do titles on commercial stuff here.
Shipping and Terms--
Deposit due within 48 hours.
Full payment due within 7 days.
Buyer is responsible for shipping arrangements. I will work with you to get it on a truck.
Overseas buyers are welcome as long as you are a serious buyer.
I can pull the bed, stacks, and mirrors off so it can fit in a container.
Selling as is.
