1978 Ford F250 Crew Cab 4x4
460 v8, 4 speed manual trans, NP205 transfer case, Dana 44/Dana 60, power steering, power brakes, no A/C. This is a turn key, running and driving truck. I have used it as a daily driver for the last few months, drives straight and easy, cruises 65-70 down the interstate. This is a factory 4x4 truck, F26 Vin. Clean Oregon title in hand, plates/registration do not go with the truck.
This truck was originally a Seneca Timber company truck and spent most of its life in Eastern Oregon, the person I purchased it from owned it for about 30 years, it remained in eastern Oregon, spent some time in Idaho, then finally ended up in the Willamette Valley. This is a perfect driver quality truck if you want the classic patina work truck look. It is mechanically sound and ready to take you wherever you want to go. It is also an excellent start for a full restoration, no major rust repair needed, fully complete truck to start with. The 5 digit odometer reads 76k but actual mileage is unknown, previous owner switched out the cluster from the original one that was in km/hr.
Originally had a 400 in it but that has been replaced with a rebuilt 460 from a 72 Lincoln. I don't know how many miles are on the rebuild, it was probably done 20yr ago but hasn’t been driven a lot since then. I pulled a valve cover off to inspect and it's still very clean inside of the engine. Engine has a Edelbrock intake and carb, mild cam, L&L fender well headers. The previous owner's brother owned the local machine shop and did all the work. Head casting # D3VE-A2A, Block casting # D1VE-A.
It also has a saginaw power steering pump, Gm one wire alternator, and dual batteries.
Recent work includes, new mufflers, oil change, tune up, master cylinder, fuel pump, replacement front seat, replacement bed and tailgate.
The Truck is Rust/cancer free besides a small spot on the rear driver bed corner behind the bumper. It does have surface rust, there are paint chips that have developed surface rust, the rockers have light surface rust from driving on gravel roads. There is light surface rust on the underside of the cab and the frame, all associated with an old truck. The metal is still solid and not cancerous. There are a few spots of heavy surface rust on the inside lower parts of the door, the metal is still solid. The bed was replaced due to rust issues, the replacement bed was painted white but was not a good color match.
The body has minor dents throughout the truck that is associated with a work truck. The rear driver door has bondo on it, it will need some body work, I have included some inside photos of the door to show that it's not heavily damaged and should be an easy fix. The paint has imperfections throughout the truck.
The previous owner attempted to do some sort of firewall insulation for noise/heat that consisted of spray foam and aluminum tape. I removed some of it that was on the passenger side of the firewall.

Edit 1: It is also worth noting that the clutch engagement can be a little aggressive/grabby when starting from a stop, this is most noticeable when attempting to accelerate abruptly. Its not too bad just something to keep in mind and wanted to make sure I mentioned it.
