Offered FOR SALE is this Amazingly Original 3 Owner 1937 Ford 5 Window Business Coupe. The original owner purchased the car new and kept it through February 1941. The second owner purchased the car and kept it through 1975 (I have a copy of this title). The third owner bought the car in 1975 and kept it through 2021. I have not transferred the title to my name so the next owner will become the 4 recorded owner of this vehicle. The car has been garaged since 1941 and is virtually rust free. The odometer reads 81117 and is correct... I drove the car 3 miles after taking the photos. The car has had one black exterior respray and one interior replacement prior to 1975. According to the service decals in the driver side door jam, the engine was replaced on December 14, 1961 at 57,900 miles with the updated and more reliable 24 stud version of the flathead V8.ENGINE & TRANSMISSION:The 24 stud flathead V8 runs good, has good oil pressure, doesn't smoke and doesn't overheat. The 3 speed floor shift transmission shifts well through all the gears and the clutch works properly.ELECTRICAL:This car carries its original 6 volt positive ground electrical system and all lights, horn, and gauges work properly, including the temp gauge. The 6 volt battery was new in December 2023BRAKING SYSTEM:This car carries its original Ford cable brake system and the car stops adequately for a 1930's vehicle.WHAT DOESN'T WORK:The speedometer works up to 11mph and then stops climbing - the odometer works properlyThe leather flaps inside the windshield wiper vacuum pods have dried up leaving the vacuum wipers in need of repairThe driver side roll up window is broken - it broke as the previous owner closed the door to hand me the keys on the day I purchased the car. I will have a replacement window on order. The tires are old and partially flatspotted from years of storage creating a vibration above 30mph.BODY CONDITION:The body is very solid and has a few small dents and scratches which should be visible if you look closely in the photos. The frame, trunk and undercarriage are extremely solid since the car has been garaged most of its life... I have included multiple pictures of the undercarriage to help emphasize this. I found one small soft spot on the driver floorboard about 3" in diameter (still all there - not a hole - but soft) I also found one small rusted area where the passenger side cowl and fender meet below the running board...approximately 1" x 3"I would consider this car to be virtually rust free for an 87 year old unrestored car.WHAT ELSE IS INCLUDED:The car comes with a complete spare 24 stud Flathead ENGINE which turns over freely and (I was told) was in good condition when removed from a vehicle in 1975. The car has a complete spare TRANSMISSION which was disassembled for a single part which was need for the car. Also included is a spare set of GAUGES, HEATER PARTS, VINTAGE MANUALS, and a set of Super Rare 6 volt Sealed Beam Conversion Pods and many other spare parts.WHY AM I SELLING:Quite by chance I just acquired my first nationally competitive race car which I sold 40 years ago and judged to be gone for good... thus I won't be able to dig into restoration on the '37 for a few more years so it needs a new home.
