Vehicle Details
An original duce coupe with steel body and fenders. Hard to find any 5 window coupes without street rod modifications. Model B 4 cylinder engine with counter balanced crankshaft, and centrifugal spark advance. Block mounted fuel pump and original King Seeley sending unit and fuel gauge. New field windings and armature in 6 Volt positive ground generator. Solid state controlled battery recharge circuit within a stock style cutout. Engine rebuilt in 2015 by Schwalm with hardened valve seats and stainless exhaust valves. Likely less than 300 miles on the powertrain since being rebuilt. The engine block and head are crack-free and no pins. Original 3 speed manual transmission case with 1940's series Ford gears and synchromesh for easy shifting. Rumble seat with roll-down rear window makes this a great vehicle for taking visitors for a spin or enjoying the parade. Aside from the engine rebuild, I did all of the other mechanical rebuilds and maintenance myself including transmission, clutch bearings, steering box, leaf springs, spring perch bushings, distributor bushings - too many to list all of them. I installed a 1960 era "modern" points under the stock distributor cap, but have an original unmodified distributor also. My wife and I did the interior since quality options were limited after LB went out of business. This car is what I wanted it to be - safe, reliable and rust-free. It is not a show car by most standards with the current condition of the paint, but could easy become one. Many photos and service history information available to the buyer. * The original speedometer works but the odometer does not, so the listed mileage (54868) is what the odometer shows. The speedometer case has never been opened, but the linkage to the drive shaft has been lubricated. Small tears in rumble seat cushions as shown in photos. Custom seat cover for interior bench seat which has always used to protect mohair fabric. The ignition key is matched to the driver's door lock - all original window and door hardware as well as original Sparton horn.
