With both Ford and Holden now producing Utes, this started the long-standing tradition of Australian-designed 2 door vehicles with a tray at the back, based on a passenger-car sedan chassis.A Gentleman in Oregon who was a member of the HAMB ( ) since 2008, traded for this 1950 Ford Ute from Australia, He traced it back to Oct. 200, where it was purchased at Bernie Zieminski's collection auction in Medford, Oregon. It has a vin. - modification tag on the left side of the firewall from Queensland, Australia dated July 2000 when it was originally exported into the United States. When bought in 2009 it was chopped, wheel wells restyled, tailgate filled, converted to left hand drive. Next they added a Toyota front clip, 9" ford rear end, tubbed the back end added air ride and a hard tonneau cover. The body work is very well done although its starting to show a few minor flaws. For the power it now has a SBC w/twin turbos.
