The motor received New rod andmain bearings. Machine shop said the bore was stock and it only needed honing which it received. They also inspected heads and crankshaft with nothing needing to be done there. The heads got new valve seals and crankshaft received a light polish. When it was rebuilt, it received a “RV” camshaft and lifters giving it strong low-end torque with new rings and freeze plugs. Cam bearings had no issues so they were not replaced. It was originally a 390 2 barrel motor. A four barrel intake was added. At rebuild it got a new oil pump and double roller timing chain and fuel pump. It has a newer style one-wire alt on it (150 amp). New starter, battery (Ford) and cables. I added gauges, oil pressure, temp and voltsto see what is going on. Cold light, hot light, Alt light still work, oil light was eliminated. It has never had a trailer hitch on it and since I have had it, all it has hauled is folding chairs. It’s a cruise in car. I did add a 4-barrel intake and a Holley brawler carb with electric choke. It runs good like it is. I change oil frequently because it gets diluted with fuel quick with in and out of garage movement. (Oil is cheap, motors are expensive). We did drive it to Butler PA from South Carolina this summer. Trans shifts great but will leak when sitting for long periods of time. Seals are 57 years old, so I am sure it needs a reseal. Rear axle has new axle shaft bearings but nothing else has been done and it is quiet. Driveshaft has new u joints. Brakes have been upgraded to disc in front with new booster, master cyl, rubber lines, calipers and pads. It was a kit using same drum brake spindles. Rear brakes are new shoes with new wheel cyl and E- brake cables (E- brake is used all the time). All 4 new Moog ball joints, upper a-arm bushings, strut rod bushings, stabilizer links 4 new KYB shocks, rear springs and tires. It has a dual exhaust from Waldron for 65 wagons. 66 did not offer dual exhaust on any full-size wagons. I eliminated heat riser on rt manifold with a by-pass block to keep exhaust stock. It has a recore radiator and new heater core and hoses. It was converted to new style Sanden compressor with new hoses, expansion valve, condenser, receiver dryer and blower motor. The evap core was cleaned. It has Ice cold A/C. I have only used A/C. Manual water shut off valve for heater core. The body is original with all its blemishes and interior is all factory except for carpet and front door seals. It had no carpet when I purchased it. headliner has had old mice damage and dry material. There is one hole in driver rear headliner area at back glass. It was a smoker's car back in the day. This car gets thumbs up everywhere we go with paint /body as is. It is a factory tinted glass (all glass) with dark shade on top of windshield. Again, the glass is all original. It has a perfect frame. I am from a rust state of northeast and remember these cars having major frame issue when they were 7 years old. Not this one. No bends or welds on it and no rust concerns.I flush the frame out to keep it clean of dirt once a year. It’s a nice car and if you wanted to fix body issues and paint i, it could be a show car or very nice driver car. It has old body damage from years ago(bondo coming off top of pass fender) on rt front fender. No rust on floor pans that I found. Rust areas are spare tire area, lower dog leg with some on lower lip of tailgate. Small Bubbles on lower areas but nothing extreme or covered up.It’s all original for most of the body. Both front fenders have had very old bodywork (front edge pass fender) but hood is original with no damage from collision. All damage was light damage to fenders with no grill or panel under grill damage. No hard impacts to front of car. No body damage from front glass to rear tailgate, all orginal. All paint except for both front fenders are original. It sat for a long time before I purchased it. driver seat had no tears in it when I got it. If someone did body work and some interior work, itcould be a show car. I never intended to do that with it. We drive it so I make sure all the mechanical stuff is good. I worked at a Ford dealer for over ten years. I have a 66 Galaxie 500 2 dr I want to finish so selling this one.
