This custom 1940 Ford Deluxe convertible has an all-steel, rust-free original body with a shaved hood and decklid, shortened side trim and modified 1940 Chevrolet skirts. Power comes from a rebuilt 291ci DeSoto HEMI engine mated to a rebuilt 1940 Ford transmission with Lincoln Zephyr gears and a rebuilt 1940 Ford rear end with 3.25 gears. Other highlights include a 1956 Ford pickup truck radiator, 4-inch dropped axle with split wishbones with a super slide spring. This vehicle is equipped with front disc brakes, dual master cylinder, C-notched frame and dual exhaust with glass-pack mufflers. This vehicle has an all-new Ron Francis wiring harness, new brakes, new Diamond Back whitewall radial tires, 1956 Lincoln Premiere hubcaps, wood-grained 1948 Cadillac steering wheel, original gauges, Hot Rod heater, LaBarron Bonney brown interior and a tan Haartz cloth top. This Ford had an 8-page feature in Hot Rod DeLuxe magazine.
