1949 Ford F-1 pickup, full restoration into bad A$$ custom rod classic cruiser. Bare metal, all paint stripped and rubbed down, boiled linseed oiled classic sheetmetal, 100% original exterior shell, some patchwork resto, but all perfect pro metal work with true metal patina, no rust, no rot, no damage, OEM patch panels = original old sheet used for patches to maintain color and patina characteristics. Interior is all custom sheetmetal flooring and firewall, with original dash and even original sourced window glass and door hardware. Built by Angel's Kustoms in Las Vegas,Nevada. Radio grille is repop, but everything else is time capsule correct with a vinyl (pleather - oxblood seat) on original seat frame, reupholstered and pleated correctly on new foam. Vintageair unit in cab. Bed wood is antiqued planks laid over custom floor framed in angle iron and squared tubing for structural integrity - no jerry-rig here. Gas tank is stock in OG location underwood bed with keyed access door. Body mounted on later chevy S-10 chassis with V-6 engine, baby vortec, normally aspirated. No crazy mods, no HP upgrades, this is a cruiser and freeway worthy truck that is fun as heck to cruise, does not overheat, large aluminum radiator, has no issues and can drive anywhere a lowered truck can go. Running 14's black steelie rims with chrome caps, sits nice and low but drives chevy S10 stock, no rubbing, no turn issues, no bump steer. This truck gets more looks than $100K custom rods every time I go out and the BARE METAL patina (no paint) gets the award for best patina! This is not a rust-rod - there is no rust. The paint has been painstakingly ground away manually with an Eastwood rolling drum sander and scotchbrite media discs to leave a beautiful brownish patina that is sort of smooth and 100% rust free. There is no filler or paint anywhere on this truck! It is NOT clearcoated, but is BOILED LINSEED OILED hand rubbed. The old school sauce patina sauce gives it a little shine, unlike a clearcoat, but leaves th metal raw to the touch. It could be cleared if it goes somewhere wet or rainy it would make sense, but not in Las Vegas. Vegas sun destroys paint, this is metal. This is a rat-type time capsule but not a rat rod! Every piece of metal on the body is OEM stock, old and original.Patched sheetmetal repairs were done with OEM metal panels to maintain consistency and appearance. You cannot duplicate or paint a vehicle to match this type of 70+ year patina and metal.Only visible mod are Custom front and rear bumpers made to look stock, but way strong, not like the cheapo repop bumpers you get now. Reinforced ORIGINAL running boards you can actually step and stand on without fear of bending or kinking as the supports have been fabbed from squared tubing and fitted to S10 chassis.Interior is also bare metal custom made floor and fire wall thick gauge for rigidity and stability. STICK SHIFT 5 speed with the classic door knob shifter. Can be changed to tiki head or beertap shifter, 8 Ball, etc., but I like the simple O'school polished brass doorknob. Interior has an amp and box behind seat with 3mm plug for phone or Ipod, but it is not used much. Cutouts in the headers controlled by a pull inside cab makes it sound like a bigblock with roller lifters, but that is just to make noise cruising at the shows. Bed is set up with cool details, vintage 1950's Proto toolbox with original paint, working antique locks, vintage1950's Snap-On toolbox, original paint and lock, vintage gas and oil cans, vintage 1930's kerosene road flare, working vintage locks with skeleton keys, vintage 1930's marble reflectors, vintage turn signal switch, vintage Appleton yellow large foglamps up front, OK farmtruck plate (1948) rusted through then preserved with epoxy, vintage OEM rust pitted F-1 badges and trim. All trim is OEM original with pits and decayed chrome that cannot be duplicated. No repop or new emblems (except for radio grille in cab). Hood latches, front upper hoodgrilles, trim, etc., is all original OLD and distressed from 70+years of age and environment! SEE THIS THING AND YOU WILL LOVE IT
