Exterior
One…singular sensation…is what best describes the buttoned-up exterior of this truck. All steel panels have been brought back to their factory specifications with well minded gaps and all draped in black respray. For the paint we are swimmin' in the deep end of the pool. Browsing over the remainder of the exterior, we see plenty of straight rust and dimple free chrome, all perfect badging, a nicely polished grille surround, and some snazzy black metal tube step up helpers on either side. An extended cab allows for extra storage behind the front bench and has a single fold down jump seat on either side. We see tinted windows all around with nicely polished surrounds and drip moldings. The long bed is covered with a shiny fiberglass lift covering. Opening this and the tailgate gives you full access to a speckle gray sprayed with trunk liner bed. All is very well on the back gate with all original and completely restored trimmings and badging along with a diamond plate topped rear chrome bumper. No stones were left unturned for this restoration and that includes new rubber window and door stripping. 16-inch black powder coated wheels with some chrome accenting are wrapped by deep tread rubber on all 4 corners. And the Orchestra plays us through the interior.
Interior
“All the world is a stage, and all the men and women are merely players”. An integral part of this truck's appeal is the interior. This one now has black stitched squares in vinyl along with plenty of custom molded plastic for the armrest and actuator handle. Power window toggles are here too. Stepping up inside we plant our gods on pristine charcoal gray tuck and roll broadcloth with shiny black bolsters. This bench fronts a wood rimmed rally steering wheel that you can look through to see the pristine restored original dash and gauges. 3 deep bezel rectangles house the main instruments, and on either side are pulls and temp sliders. Below said sliders is a Kenwood AM/FM/CD stereo sound system, and below that a nifty cup holder. Just beside is another trio of aftermarket gauges to keep your eyes on the pulse of this engine who's description is ready to go on stage…ACTION!
Drivetrain
Under the hood the amazing work continues with a showroom presenting 429ci V8 all painted blue. Blue heads, blue valve covers, blue block, and open chromed air cleaner cover. This mill is topped by a 4-barrel 750cfm Edelbrock carb and it uses an Edelbrock intake. On the back is a C6 3-speed automatic transmission. On the back is a Dana 60 rear. MSD ignition and some other goodies are all stuffed under this hood with a neat embossed Ford interior liner in black.
Undercarriage
As expected total rust free steel with black matte painted floor pans, and black supporting beams and panels too. A radius arm and coil spring suspension is up front, and on back is a leaf spring suspension. Power discs are up front while power drums bring up the rear and a Flowmaster exhaust and mufflers are seen taking the exhale baton from the headers now on the mill. No road dirt either to speak of so this truck is a shower. A Star if you will!
Drive-Ability
Slipping inside this truck fires right up and is ready to go. And go it does with easy shifting, nice acceleration, and all working controls and readouts. What else could you ask for?? No wonder it's a 3x winner on the Rt66 fun run.
