1934 Ford 40 Coupe

The great thing about the evolution of hot rodding is: over the past 30 years a vast array of excellent products have continually streamed onto the market. And presently, anyone with a checkbook and an affinity for going way too fast and looking way too good can build anything from state-of-the-art avant-garde to old school cool. This sweet Ford coupe, wrapping a modern chassis and reliable V8 in show stopping aesthetics, is a ground-up build that combines the core strengths of original hot rodding with an uncompromising vision and top-notch componentry. And, if you're looking to score a fully sorted custom that mixes classic good looks with proven road manners, it's a strong candidate for your next street rod!

For consignment a star of magazine (for its special paint) appearing in Street Rodder, and Hot Rod Magazine in 2014. This is the FIRST car to be painted with HOK Shimrin 2 paint. A Minotti body on a TCI chassis, no worries about any old time wrenching on this rodder, it's all new, and has plenty of modern conveniences so you can enjoy what it is meant to do...go and show! This car was to debut at the House of Kolors SEMA display in 2012 but was not completed in time.

Exterior
With body courtesy of Minotti, this curvaceous creation is bathed in two tone paint with some flame accenting. Colors are for the uppers Cinnamon Pearl, lowers are masterfully covered in Kandy Brandywine and there is a peppering of gold ghost flames on the fenders and running boards. Talk about deep diving into the paint, you best don your scuba gear as it is very special. All beautifully appointed with the front shield styled vertical ribbed grille, flanking headlights, cowled hood, chopped top, remote doors, stylish side view chromed mirrors and more opaque flame accenting on the beltline. The back of the car drops down gracefully melting into the curved trunk and surrounding centerfold curved rear fenders with bullet style taillights perched on stalks. To finish with a bang, there are 15-inch Billet Specialties polished Rebel Wheels on the front and 17 inch of the same vein on the rear. All wrapped up with modern all weather radial tires. "Heaven, I'm in heaven, and my heart beats so that I can hardly speak...."

Interior
A remote button pop of the suicide door, and we see nothing but cool custom cream leather fashioned in to overstuffed bomber style bucket seats, and wrapping a steering wheel on top of an Ididit tilt column. Doors are custom leather panels with plenty of embossing, and a simple curved custom fabricated chromed actuator exit handle. In the center of the buckets is a slim body matching fiberglass hump console which houses the Lokar shifter which reaches skyward for the driver's hands. In front, a custom simple dash in cream tan has a beautiful chromed wing bezel that stretches across the center of the dash and houses round gauges which begin large in the center, and get progressively smaller towards the edges with all the essentials. Within this custom interior is also Vintage Air (no heat), power windows, power brakes, power doors, a GPS speedometer, and a remote stereo and iPod system. Floors are custom fabricated vinyl in cream, with Berber carpeting inserts. All other surfaces including the headliner are smooth perfect cream leather. A shout out to the trunk which is all custom covered and buttoned up as well! Hee Haw!

Drivetrain
Under the flip up hood (faux cowled sides) is a matching work of art taking the form of a GM 350ci crate engine with Vortec heads, a GM HEI distributor, Edelbrock Performer intake and Edelbrock 650 CFM carburetor. On the back is a 700R4 transmission which throws power rearward to a Ford 9-inch rear with 3.73 gear ratio, and a polished ribbed pumpkin cover. Just beautifully appointed in chromed blinged add ons, some body matching painted parts and pure polished metal for this mill, right down to some flourish flames painted on the firewall, and a winged beetle looking like it has a mother of pearl inlay. Attention to detail is over the top.

Undercarriage
We can note the fenders, running boards and rear panel have been carefully coated with Line-X, and all other surfaces are totally rust free and shiny black. No road dirt for this undercarriage. Independent suspension with coil-overs are upfront, and on back is a 4 bar with coil-over system. Power disc brakes are all around the fronts are Brembo brand brakes. As nice as the topside.

Drive-Ability
A joy to drive with plenty of interior ergonomically fashioned interior, the air blows cold and the engine runs hot (not literally but figuratively). A stiff ride, but a good cruiser. All the conveniences were working as they should and talk about turning heads!

Not unlike driving a piece of Brancusi sculpture, with nary a straight line seen on this car, just sexy beautiful curves to feast your eyes on. An overall beautiful hot rod, and plenty of attention to detail during the build. Definitely done right and modeled after a supermodel from the 1930's, with contemporary special paint, and ready to turn the key and go and show. Love, Love, Love.... American Style!
