1956 Ford F-100 Big Window Additional Info:
This 1956 Ford F-100 was built to stand out on everything from the unique metallic paint, to the custom A/C interior. But when you see that this throaty V8 was also built to run, and it even has an overdrive transmission, you discover that this looker is also a driver.
The Purple paint is different than the bold reds and blacks that are often seen on these models, but it still has the same kind of standout shine. And this is already on top of one of the best vintage pickup designs around. That curvy bodywork has a classic old pickup look that also manages to be sporty at the same time thanks to the forward leaning stance, full running boards, and rounded rear fenders. The '56 revised grille joins the mirror-like bumpers and chrome smoothie wheels for a well-done brightwork package, which is always a must on a '50s machine. And this one has all the right details to impress, like the glossy lumber of the real wood truck bed, dual exhaust tips, and Ford emblem taillights. Plus, 1956 was the year of the wraparound windshield, and this joins the desirable and rare big wraparound rear window option to create a terrific glass house that looks like a jewel on top of this purple custom.
Opening the door introduces you to a cool custom interior. The gray velour bench is vastly more comfortable than anything that came out of the 1950s. Plus, a center console with cup holders are always nice additions. And you'll note the detail work, like how the pattern on the seats fully matches the door panels. The bold exterior purple returns on the tops of the doors and dash, and the dash panel has the bold shine of a true custom. But what you'll really love is how the best features are cleanly installed into this bold setup. Some are for better comfort, like the AM/FM/CD stereo and cold-blowing air conditioning. Other features make this a better driver, like Gran GT sport steering wheel, tilt steering column, and a full set of Dolphin gauges.
The forward-tilt hood always looks sporty, and so it's great to see such a well-done V8 package inside. Ford Motorsport valve covers, a bright air topper, and mirror-like inner fenders strike a nice balance of substance and style. This is Ford's famous 302 cubic-inch motor, and it inhales deeply through Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor and Edelbrock intake. Shorty headers add power while it exhales through a rather straight set of pipes on the glasspack dual exhaust. The V8 fires up readily, idles nicely, and drives with confidence. That's helped by upgrades like the Mustang II-style independent front suspension, rear sway bar, power steering, and power brakes w/discs up front. And the transmission is an upgraded four speed automatic transmission with highway-friendly overdrive.
If this is starting to sound like the ideal custom truck for the Power Tour, it absolutely is. In fact, it's already completed it... twice! That's the kind of road-ready custom your looking at, and so you also know it's cut-above quality applies for far more than just its appearance. So if you want to enjoy your classic pickup to the fullest, you can't let this Ford slip away. Call now!
