1968 Ford Mustang GT Convertible Additional Info:
This 1968 Ford Mustang convertible does it right. It offers a factory-style package, right down to the color combo...but there are also some well integrated upgrades in the right places. And this even has the paperwork to prove it's a real-deal GT drop-top.
Part of getting the whole package right is also about paying attention to the fundamentals. For example, because the sheetmetal is quite straight, it makes for an even more impressive place to display the factory-correct Candyapple Red. It was resprayed sometime later in life, and so that helps give it the kind of shine that you want on a bold GT car. In fact, the included Marti Report and window sticker prove this was born a desirable GT machine. It also gets all the appearance pieces correct, like fog lights in the grille, GT badging (including the gas cap,) dual exhaust, and the special set of factory wheels with beauty rings. This also means it wears the correct side C-stripe down the sides, which is particularly attractive when coordinated with the black convertible top.
Not only does this look good with the roof in place, but also with the flip of a switch, it powers down to reveal a full black interior. So that GT stripe also coordinates with the inside to give this a thoughtful and uniform appearance to the total package. All the best vintage pieces are still in place and look good, including the front bucket seats, center console, and deluxe steering wheel. You'll even notice the correct AM radio is still on display. But in a classic you really want to take out on the weekends, it also need the right driving music. That's why they've hidden away in the glovebox an AM/FM/CD stereo that even has modern Bluetooth.
There's proper V8 power waiting for you under the hood. We love the 1968 cars because it was the debut of the larger 302 cubic-inch V8, and this GT was optioned to have one right from the factory. So since this was already born with a little extra power, it seems appropriate it would get upgraded with a little extra Cobra flair on the ribbed valve covers and long air topper. The V8 inhales deeply with a four-barrel carburetor, and the H-pipe dual exhaust has a great sound. The three-speed automatic transmission is a smooth shifter, and so you know this pony car loves to gallop. There's even power steering, power brakes, and modern Hankook cruising tires to make this an easy driver.
This Mustang convertible has a terrific look and the right paperwork to show people it was born with this desirable appearance. So when such a solid classic is also a great modern cruiser, you know you can't let this one slip away. Call today!!!
