1978 Ford F-250 Additional Info:
I am the original owner. I ordered the SuperCab so I could store my construction tools inside the vehicle. I wanted the longer 8' bed also for construction. When I retired in 1996 I bought the original bench seat in the correct color from a salvage yard. There is less than 72,000 miles on the original 5.8 liter (351 cu in) engine and automatic transmission. I have stored the truck since 1997. First in my garage ('til 2007), then my driveway ('til 2018) and recently on the street with a 'FOR SALE' sign. It still passes California smog and has always run the way it should. I finally found a source for the fabric that was standard for the truck back in 1978 when I bought it. The local upholstery shop did a great job! The rear bench seat is the original vinyl material and I have enough extra fabric that it could be matched to the front bench seat which I will include. I recently replaced the front windshield and the sliding rear window. I also overhauled the door windows and vent window frames so they work like new with new door window track channels and weather stripping. The interior door panels still need installed and I have both of them - just has not been a priority. Left to complete are the step rails under the doors (which will be polished stainless steel and full cab length), and the 4 wheel well moldings (polished aluminum which I just haven't installed yet.). I may buy a new chrome rear step bumper and also have the original front bumper re-chromed just because I want everything to look as clean as possible. If we agree on a price I would require a deposit of $2000 by personal chec, then you would come to SoCal and do an inspection and test drive, pay the balance and when that amount clears you can drive it to where you live or arrange for shipping. I won't accept a cashiers check, USPS money order or anything that could be forged on a computer if you think you can pay me with that kind of payment, and drive it off that same day. Cash only baby!!
