1964 Ford Mustang Additional Info:
We're all on the lookout for a 1964.5 Ford Mustang, but this is a standout amongst those rare few. It's a D-code car, which kicked off the legendary 289 V8, and this one even shows the right signs of being original to the car! Plus, there are nice touches like the custom interior. It all makes for an irresistible classic of true distinction.
The factory-correct Wimbledon White is a great way to represent this historic coupe. After all, this was one of the colors they used to help promote the debut cars. There was some restoration work later in life, and so it still carries a nice shine today to impress at the stoplights. Plus, the chrome is in excellent condition on the wraparound bumpers, full trim, and iconic pony badge leading the way. And since a D-code coupe is quite a nice find, it's great to have this looking so complete, right down to the factory-style wheel covers.
Open the door to a very cool presentation with just the right amount of custom. After all, the seats look terrific as the white harmonizes with the exterior, and the red inserts and piping coordinate with the rest of the factory-correct red pieces. There's even the running horses in the seatbacks as a tribute to the premium "pony" package. Even the gauges were upgraded to a white-faced setup for an added touch of coordination. The fundamentals are nice with a taut headliner, good carpeting, and a smooth dash underneath the protective fabric pad. These even has the best vintage elements, like the grippy three-spoke steering wheel, the AM radio still on display, correct trunk mat, and the desirable center console with floor shift.
You'll enjoy showing off this special motor, especially with the full dark engine bay that funnels your attention to the clean and bright golden the valve covers and air grabber. A 289 cubic-inch D-code Mustang is a rare sight. It was the big V8 offered during the first half-year of production. It's usually hard to find a D-code VIN, and so it makes it even more impressive to have this one with a date-correct block that's believed to be original to the car. As you look around, you'll also spot other 1964.5-olnly pieces, like the generator. More than just history, this one was made to be driven. Power steering, power brakes, modern tires, and a smooth-shifting three-speed automatic transmission are all part of a great package that make it easy to enjoy this rare pony.
Complete with maintenance records, this is the car that launched the legend. So we always love these coupe just a little bit more. Call today!!!
