1936Ford Roadster, All Henry Ford original steel
This original1936 Ford Roadster body came to me in pieces and had been sitting ina storage for many years until last January when she was pulled itout and I took her to a restoration shop. The all Henry Ford steelbody was gone thru, new metal pans, patch panels, wood, etc. All thehard work has been done. She was fitted onto a fully restored 1936Ford frame with a freshly rebuilt Flathead motor and is a running, driving car with plenty of original wear and dents left on body tokeep the old, worn look. As much of the original black paint wasleft and new paint was blended in as best as possible to keep herlooking like an unrestored 84 year old car.
Some of thedetails of work done:
All new metalfloor pans
New metalrockers
New metal tail
New metalquarter panels
36 Framecompletely restored
New fuel tank,lines
New brakesconverted to juice
New wood madeand installed
Rebuilt 59 ABFlathead with dual exhaust (old school skinny pipe style)
3 Speed synchrotransmission was gone thru
5 Firestone whitewhites on new correct rims
Gaugesprofessionally restored
Metal body wasrust proofed
New floor plansPOR 15 on inside and top coated in black paint
Most everythingmechanical was rebuilt or replaced
Only 3,862 ofthe cars were made in 1936 and many were hot rodded or customized inthe early days. This car was a mild custom in the 1940's/50's withsome very minor changes such as a leaded in cowl vent (amateur done),has a partially filled dash, inner panel from deck lid was removed, there is a hole for cowl spotlight that was once there, etc. Becauseit's very hard to find an unrestored, unmolested '36 Roadster, Idecided to leave most of the small dents (there were no large dents)and kept the paint worn looking. When visitors comes to view mycollection, it seems this car is the first they always go to versesmy fully restored, more perfect cars.
She's alltogether and drives great but needs some minor finishing to be streetlegal such as wiring (headlights, taillights, gauges, etc.), glovebox door needs hinges, deck lid needs to be stiffened, etc. Seat incar is from a '36 Buick and fits perfect. I didn't want to drillholes in the new floor plans so the seat is not bolted in but theseat does not move and is secure for trips around the block. If youwanted to make the car an original example again, very little wouldbe required, but she'd make a great early style custom. The car isin the perfect position for someone else to take her in theirdirection as a driver or leave as is. I'm only selling as I amrestoring several other cars and need more space and time, so she'sup for sale.
I can send manymore pictures or videos of her running and driving. H 828-877-5351or C 828-553-3217. Please leave message on both numbers if noanswer, cell does not work where I live or you can text. I can workwith you if you need time to ship.
