EXTERIOR: I've always liked these, it is such a handsome car. This is one of a few cars I actually like the hardtop better than the convertible because of the nice roofline. The body looks great. outstanding. It's straight, all the panels fit square and flush. No rust or damage. The Summertime Yellow paint is polished out very smooth and glossy. Up front the bumper is rechromed, the grill, emblems and headlight bezels are excellent. The grills on the hood have been restored. All the stainless trim around the windows has been professionally straightened and polished. It has the original Ford script mirrors. In back the bumper is rechromed, tail panel trim and tail light bezels are in excellent condition. The wheels look new including the center caps and trim rings. They roll on reproduction Firestone redline tires. It has the black GT stripes on each side. The glass is real nice and windows fit nice. The weather strips and window seals are replaced. The door jambs are painted real nice, sill plates are new. The doors shut like a new car.
INTERIOR: Inside the car is in excellent condition. The seats have been reupholstered, front and rear side panels have been replaced, the headliner is new and fits tight as a drum. It also has new matching visors, the carpet is new. It does have seat belts in front. The center console has been restored. The dash pad is very good, inside the glove box the liner is new and it has the optional emergency flashers. The instrument panel is very good original. Has original am radio.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: #s matching S code 390-335 hp motor. The tag has correct #s, the casting codes and dates are correct. The whole compartment is restored to stock condition. It has reproduction hoses, clamps, washer fluid bag and assembly line markings. It has correct manifolds, a big dual feed Holley carb for a 428 with electric choke on top. Everything is painted very neatly. The VIN number on the core support matches the tag in the door. The radiator has proper shroud and correct cap. Has proper canister type fuel pump, Autolite regulator.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Inside the trunk compartment is solid metal, it's been very neatly painted a gray and white spatter finish. It has a new, nice fitting gray and white rubber mat. It also has a reproduction tire that's never been used on a black painted rim. It has a restored jack assembly, all bolted down properly. Bottom of the trunk lid and the jamb are painted real smooth and slick. It has new weatherstrip.
UNDERSIDE: Cleaned and detailed real nice. The front end is completely rebuilt- balljoints, bushings, right down to new cotter pins. Has swaybar. New shocks in back with leaf springs. Bottom of the motor is spotless. Original C-6 trans; tag # PDD V. Original dated rear end with 3.23 gears. Brakes were rebuilt during restoration. The floors are clean and neatly painted satin black.
This is a good looking, very nicely restored GT-A. I would be proud to kwn it.
