1929 Ford Model A Pickup Additional Info:
The 1929 Ford Model A pickup (82-A) was a popular style because it combined the comfort of Ford's main sedan with truck usability. Today that diverse spirit lives in this award-winning restored example that would be an attraction at any vintage car show, truck show, or even parade.
The dark green paint looks great with the black fenders. This glossy paintjob looks very period correct, and while it looks like a subtle two-tone indoors, the green shines nicely in the sunlight. But the real standout opposing hue comes from the wooden bed rails that also match the wood on the bed floor. While the pickup was one of the most utilitarian of the Model As, it did come with the fender-mounted spare wire wheel. This was usually reserved for the Deluxe models, but you can see them so distinctly here finished in a proper yellow. This truck was given a detail-oriented restoration, so not only do the hood and doors close nicely, but also you get all the little things that make enthusiast take extra time to check it out. The Ford logo side steps, luggage protector, and full toolkit in a bed-mounted wooden box are the kind of extras we don't often get to see. No wonder this took a first-place award at the last Naples Depot Museum Car Show.
Step inside and it feels like a time machine going back 90 years. That's because all the major components feel fresh, including the seat cover, door panels, rubber floor mat, and steering wheel. Even the dash is nicely painted in the exterior green. The bright finish of the gauge panel really catches your eye. And you'll love to show others all the details, right down to the working map light. These trucks were slightly more expensive than the roadster pickups, and that meant proper weather sealing. Still ventilation is a breeze with roll-down windows and a pop-out windshield. So it's still easy to get comfortable on your favorite country drive.
The engine bay got the same attention during the restoration as the rest of the truck, so it's clean and detail-oriented. All Model As, even the trucks, got the same torquey 201 cubic inch four-cylinder engine. Which means maintenance and components are easier than you would think on a 90+ year-old pickup. It fires up nicely like with that great robust Ford feeling, and it has the exhaust note to match. The three-speed manual transmission is light and easy to master, and the four-wheel mechanical brakes are surprisingly effective given the Model A's light weight.
The sale comes complete with photos documenting the restoration. These Model A pickups were built so tough it could probably still go to work today. But just like you, this exceptional Ford really just deserves the good life of a long Sunday drive. Call today!!!
