1992 Ford F150 Flareside Pickup Additional Info:

1992 Ford F-150 Flare Side Pickup

Back in 1992 Ford celebrated their 80 year anniversary for the pickup truck, and to do so every Ford dealer in the country received 1 Iris colored flare side (or step side) example. This model had since been dropped, so it was a bit of a throwback of this popular design, and a reintroduction of the flare side truck.

For consignment, a 1 owner mostly original truck with some modifications, garage kept, well maintained 80th Anniversary edition of the flare side pickup in Iris paint. Now a cowl induction hood, a chrome bar style grille, bed carpet, a tonneau cover, and snappy Tribal hood and fender flames licking rearward, and even some neon lights for some eye candy when it gets dark and you feel like a cruise and a howl!

Exterior
61,313 original miles for this one owner truck, bathed in two tone- Iris, with silver flare sides at the rockers. Some Tribal flames for the hood, which is now a cowl induction style, and for the fenders. To delineate the two tone paint, snazzy red and purple stripes run the length of either side. The front of this truck now has chromed bar style grille in horizontal setup, and a front bumper ground effects version with driving lights. Moving back, we note a large sun visor jutting from the front of the roof line, and a fender, and door step side flare molding kit. The rear bumper has been removed and a roll pan now replaces it, also showing dual custom exhaust peeking out from the bottom. Headlights and taillights are now covered with some custom coverings, and snappy neon can be turned on and you can bask in the afterglow underneath the front, back and sides of this truck with that neon full bore. On back is an arched tonneau cover over the bed area, which snaps on, and covers a fully carpeted shelved rear bed. Deep dish chromed reverse wheels with chromed moon caps are on all 4 corners, as well as dual large chromed side view mirrors. A tinted sliding rear cab window allows air to flow through this hot truck.

Interior
A swing of the doors and we see plenty of gray molded plastic making up the door panels, and these have carpet and broadcloth to soften the effect. Power window and lock toggles are installed into the doors. Slipping inside is a full bench with broadcloth gray covering, and a lumbar support for the driver's side. Noted is a large and in charge armrest, which can be conveniently flipped upward, and you have another instant passenger seat. Upfront the original dash is very clean, as is the steering wheel, and an added pro unit clock and tachometer have been molded into the A pillar. A full 4 speaker surround sound system is driven by a Sanyo AM/FM/CD/Cassette head unit neatly installed into the original dash. Carpet and headliner are pristine, and flamed floor mats protect the floors as well. Dual gas tanks with 16 and 18 gallons capacity respectively extend your trip by many miles.

Drivetrain
A 4.9 liter inline 6 cylinder offers up plenty of power, and nice gas saving from the usual V8. A 4-speed overdrive automatic transmission is on back, and all is nicely preserved in the clean engine bay.

Undercarriage
Beautifully detailed with shiny black undercarriage still showing some of the factory Iris overspray throughput, and certainly no rust, surface or otherwise. Axles, fuel tank, brakes, suspension front and back, coil springs, and various other small parts on this undercarriage, have all been painted silver, which adds a nice contrast to the shiny black. Disc brakes are up front, and on back are drum brakes. Just beautifully done underneath to match the stunning topside.

Drive-Ability
A turn of the key and she fired right up. The 6 cylinders hummed in unison and I was off to the test track. Here it performed well, with snappy acceleration, good handling and a nice comfortable quiet cruise at highway speed. All functions were working swimmingly, A/C blowing cold and the stereo was loud and proud. Being higher up almost prompted me to take advantage of lesser vehicles, but I refrained, and just decided to look cool rather than act upon it as well, although I easily could have!

A 1 owner modified from original, Iris anniversary truck, flare sides, neon, shelves for the carpeted bed, and all buttoned up under the well maintained hood in the engine bay, this truck is just a great looker, and a bit of a cooker to boot.
