1950 Ford Custom Sedan

In 1950 it was all about selling cars...to everyone, and the Custom and Deluxe sedans were well within reach of the average consumer. Good looks, decent performance and plenty of interior room for the larger family were just a few of the selling points that all stressed great VALUE!

For consignment directly from the barn find category, this Custom 2-Door Sedan. She's a bit ragged, a bit rough around the edges, and a bit rusty, and has some missing parts, but she's in dire need of TLC to bring her back to roadworthy status. Are you the one?

Exterior
Rustic yellow still adorns the exterior of this barn find. Upfront we are missing the hood and a headlight. The grille has some rusts do the body panels which are showing chipping as well. Side spear trim has gone by the wayside on the rear quarters, and all but one of the moon caps is gone. Glass is dirty but all intact, and some rust is forming on the rockers.

Interior
The interior retains its originality, with a metal dash and sparse gauges and knobs. Carpet is dry rotted away, and the seats are still in amazingly good condition with tuck and roll broadcloth velour inserts and smooth vinyl bolsters. Side panels and door panels retain their cloth however some of the cranks for the windows are missing. The headliner has mold, and water damage that can be seen throughout. An original steering wheel fronts the dash.

Drivetrain
A 239ci V8 in non-running condition has a 3-speed manual transmission attached.

Undercarriage
Heavy surface rust invades the undercarriage, and invasive rust has made the spare tire well to be rusted through. There is rust through also on some of the floorpans. Lower inside door panels as well as body hangers where they meet the body are showing some structural damage.

A barn find certainly in need of ambitious restoration, or just make use of it as a parts car. Am economy model from Ford in their history of catering to the masses.
