1979 Ford Thunderbird Additional Info:
You are bidding on an original survivor 1979 Ford Thunderbird. This car has less than 50,000 miles and is looking for a new owner. Always adult driven by previous one owner elderly retired mechanic. This model has a 351 V8 with factory AC and even a factory CB radio. The interior is amazingly clean and the dash board has no cracks. I do not have the key to what appears to be a factory installed car alarm.
There are no major rust issues on this car. The original paint stills has a shine. The factory T Tops do not appear to leak after rain. I drove this car home 40 miles without any issues. The headlight covers are in open position and may require attention. The power windshield wipers spurt fluid, but the wipers themselves do not go on. The drivers power seat motor does not seem to work.
I included pictures of a small rust area on rear bumper - not rusted through though. Also, a small area of the vinyl roof that has a little wrinkling. There are some small areas of minor dings or chrome trim with imperfections, but the car shows really great and these blemishes are minor for it's original condition.
The car drives straight with no suspension noise or known issues. The tires are recent, stopping is acceptable, transmission shifts smoothly. There is a rumble to the exhaust while at least a muffler needs to be replaced. The power windows, headlights, turn signals, brake lights all work. The radio appears to work, but I have not tried the power antenna yet. The radio appears to have an 8 track tape insert.
I have described the car to the best of my ability and it is located 45 minutes NW of Chicago if you care to see the car in person before bidding.
Good luck.
