1970 Ford Mustang MACH 1 428 SUPER COBRA JET Additional Info:
This 1970 Ford Mustang Mach 1 is a real-deal R-code Super Cobra Jet coupe. It's a big block 428 machine that's also finished in its factory-correct ideal color combo. So look over all the details, but you already know this is a true in-demand classic from the first moment it caught your glance.
Wimbledon White is a legendary color in Mustang circles. So it's not only terrific to have it as the factory-correct hue, but it means even more on a Mach 1. These have a sinister side. It starts up front with the hood scoop, chin spoiler, and bold black stripe package with callouts built right in. It continues the length of the car with the black lower body moldings with correct Mach 1 badging. Plus, the back has the louvered rear window, blackout rear panel, and big spoiler. All these black features look especially bold against the white paint to create a look that's absolutely sporty and timelessly attractive. The whole package is a detail-oriented performance pony look, right down to the hood locks and Mag-style wheels with logo center caps.
For the same reason why we like all the black accenting on the exterior, we love the full black interior. And the included Marti Report shows that this coupe was born with this full coordinating color combo. This has the look of a solid investment including re-done high-back bucket seats, nice carpeting, taut door panels, and a clean dual cowl dash. While this is a performance machine, it also was built for comfort. You have classic premium features, like the armrest center console and plenty of wood-like trim. And they even installed a retro style radio that has a vintage look, but once wired up, it gives you a modern digital tuner for upgraded driving music. The steering wheel has the classic rim-blow look and grippy feel, and it gives you a nice view to the sporty gauge package with large tach.
The engine bay was done with care, because they knew you were going to show this one off with pride. The ultra-tidy look lets you clearly see the bright blue block, ribbed valve covers, and the shaker hood scoop that announces there's serious power within. Ford figured out how to get 428 cubic-inch big block V8 power in this pony, which makes it a true muscle machine. This is a real-deal R-code coupe, which makes it one of the rarest and most powerful Mustangs for 1970. It was important enough that the consignor states it was given a date-correct replacement motor. In fact, you have many of the key components are date-correct, including the Holley four-barrel carburetor. This is a Drag Pack car which adds to the rarity. And today, this SCJ Mustang is also quite easy to enjoy a cruising speeds thanks to the power steering, three-speed automatic transmission, power brakes w/discs up front, and wide BF Goodrich T/As.
The sale comes complete with a Marti Report for you to see its low-number rarity. An R-code Mach 1 like this has an awesome presence and the big V8 to back it up. So you know this is one classic you don't want to let get away. Call today!!!
