1978 Ford F-150 Ranger 4X4 Additional Info:

A well-done vintage truck turns more heads than a new one, but that's only part of the reason why you'll love this 1978 Ford F-150 Ranger 4x4. It has the size, stance, features, and upgraded 460 V8 power to make sure this classic pickup knows how to get the job done.
In the 70s, the Ranger package meant an upgraded and very stylish pickup. It starts with professional application of a two-tone blue and silver. It's nicely intertwined, including using the premium full-length trim as a dividing line. There was a nice investment in keeping a stock look with the newer grille, wide chrome front bumper, and square headlights (lower models had the round ones in '78.) It's been stated that there was $30k investment in this Ford, and the quality really shows. But the money wasn't just about looking great; it was also about giving you the kind of components that keep this a terrific truck. There's a tall stance, brighter headlights, and wide trailering mirrors for plenty of ability. And because we know that long bed means more chores, it's protected with a rugged liner paint. We bet you also noticed that this has the sought-after built-in tool box option on the passenger side!
Open the door, and you'll see some obvious signs of keeping this truck comfortable. The bench seat has a new cover with comfy cloth inserts. The dash look nice with its classic/premium wood trim. Plus, the radio has the classic knob-style appearance, but it's really a modern AM/FM digital tuner. The major components for air conditioning are in place, but it will need a servicing with the hoses hooked up to work again. Of course, your real favorite breezes come from opening the vent windows and sliding the rear glass for the old-school air flow that only a classic pickup can provide.
This is a big truck, but fortunately, there's a big V8 to move it around. The 460 cubic-inch engine was the largest motor Ford ever put in this generation F-series. Not only was this more recently upgraded to the biggest of the big blocks, but also there are nice additions, like an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor and an aluminum intake. This kind of well-done and more recent upgrade, means the motor fires up with confidence and runs like a dependable truck should. Combine the rumble of the dual exhaust with the two speed 4x4 transfer case and new Cooper Evolution M/T tires, and you realize this is a great package for on or off road. This is also true of features like Ford's stout C6 three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, and power brakes w/discs up front.
