1937 Ford Other Coast to Coast Roadster Additional Info:
While we can't fully explain the phenomenon, but there are collectors and enthusiasts in the hobby who will spend huge piles of money to have a professional shop build an incredible, show-stopping streetrod, only to then sell them before the nubs are even worn off the tires. This 1937 Ford Cabriolet Coast to Coast Roadster is just such a beast. Pro-built by the experts at Dusold Designs, it's a dazzling creation with only 1,787 shakedown miles that features a killer paint job, luxurious interior, performance chassis, and a built powertrain. If you're ready to collect trophies, this fascinating car is probably the shortest path to that goal.
Appearances are everything, and there's not another vehicle in our inventory with this kind of curb appeal. The customized Coast to Coast fiberglass body seamlessly combines styling elements of the '36, '37, and '38 Fords, but ultimately becomes something unto itself in the process. And that something is downright amazing. Still retaining the slick Art-Deco look of the original, but now sporting a serious attitude and a modern flair, there's no question this is a high-end piece. Finish work is spectacular, with no way of telling that this is a glass body without rapping your knuckles against it. The custom red paint is what you'd expect from a shop famous for its outrageous finishes and award-winning work, with a shine that's about a mile deep and killer multi-stage flame graphics on the sides that pop out like 3D renderings. Even up close, the illusion is quite convincing, and it's all buried under a urethane clearcoat, so it'll look great practically forever. Suicide-style doors have been shaved of any external handles the front grille is custom-designed and beautifully rendered in polished chrome, and the trick rear end includes an integrated LED strip taillight. From any angle, this car just looks amazing.
You can't build a car like this without employing an artist to build the interior for you, and this one doesn't disappoint. Supportive bucket seats are wrapped in lovely Italian tan leather that's the perfect contrast to the bright red paintwork. More like a high-end luxury convertible than a hot rod, it includes all the modern conveniences like Vintage A/C, power windows and locks, remote door poppers, a billet steering wheel with a leather rim set atop a chrome tilt column, and a kickin' Kenwood AM/FM/CD/AUX/Satellite stereo system with enough power to light up a small city. An amazing custom center console houses several controls and a Lokar shifter for the automatic transmission below. That cascading console brings the exterior style and color inside the cabin, and it flows into the dashboard that features a classy set of VDO white-face gauges that are neatly organized in the center. All the working parts have been cleverly hidden under the dash and out of sight, and this car includes a Time Machines Stay-Fast hidden cloth convertible top that seals up tight when it's on. The carpets are plush and insulate the vehicle from road noise and heat, and the custom door panels are absolutely stunning. There's even a fully upholstered trunk complete with removable panels, and it has enough room for all the trophies this streetrod will be winning in the near future.
With a car like this, you want reliable power that will cruise with ease at any speed, and the fuel-injected 5.7L LS1 V8 Street and Performance motor under the pointed hood is happy to oblige, with big horsepower on tap. Neatly detailed with plenty of dress-up, it features custom painted valve covers (check out the matching flames!) and an S&P chrome intake that essentially covers the entire engine and all the tight-fitting accessories that snuggle it into the narrow engine bay. The transmission is a modern 4L60 4-speed automatic overdrive unit feeding a custom-fit Ford 9-inch rear end with a 3.70 posi-traction gear ratio inside. The purpose-built suspension features tubular A-arms, a 4-link, and a full Air Ride airbag system that sets the stance and handles the corners, and a modern power steering system and Wilwood 4-wheel power disc brakes ensure a safe and exciting drive every time. As beautifully finished as the rest of the car, the chassis should probably be displayed with mirrors (everything is painted to match, including the entire drivetrain from front to back), although it was built to drive, so maybe that's what you should do instead. The booming Magnaflow dual exhaust system dumps out right before the rear end and sounds fantastic from almost any distance. Staggered Budnick Rockers are show polished and wear 205/50/17 front and 295/30/18 rear Goodyear performance radials that finish off this killer look.
If you've drooled over the pro-built rods in magazines, here's your chance to put just such a machine in your garage for a fraction of the build cost. Quite frankly, we only scratched the surface describing all that went into this build, and how awesome this streetrod really is. Give us a shout and let one of our associates tell you the rest of the story, because it's darn impressive. Call today!
