1963 Ford Galaxie 500XL Convertible Additional Info:
With cool red color inside and out, and a big 390 V8 under the hood, this 1963 Ford Galaxie 500 XL convertible was a car for big shots in the '60s. That kind of presence back then has only grown into a great attention-grabbing attitude as this restored cruiser has matured into true classic status.
Early 1960's Ford were those cars that impress you in the details. The Rangoon Red paint is bright and sophisticated at the same time, especially with the white roof in place. This car is the product of a frame-off restoration, and you can really see they took the time to deliver a nice presence. All the chrome is bright, the ornate grille is nice, and the full-length trim delivers sporty lines while emphasizing the straightness of the sheetmetal. Details like the dual fender-mounted ornaments, the 390ci checkered flag badges, and of course, bright Ford's jet-inspired taillights mean that nobody will mistake this for anything but a senior Ford. And just to make sure this shine and sporty image is maximized, a set of polished Eagle Alloy wheels were added.
As good as the white roof looks when it's in place, there's just something even more special about a red interior against the red exterior. This level of care and investment is fantastic to see in the top-of-the-line, full-sized Ford because there's plenty of great bright trim incorporated into the weave of the door panels and seats to makes this a very cool place to spend some time. Bucket seats are a rarity in these family-style convertibles, and so you'll really enjoy the individual comfort that even comes with a stylized center console. There are nice upgrades for the driver like a wood-rim three-spoke steering wheel and an auxiliary gauge trio. And the retro-style AM/FM digital tuner gives you upgraded driving music. But the best feature you're likely to enjoy the most are the power windows. Combined with the power top, it means you can go from enclosed comfort to a wind-in-your-hair experience without having to leave the driver's seat.
The fender callouts were not lying, and under the hood is the big 390 cubic-inch V8. It looks nice with the bold blue block, bright valve covers, matching air topper, and tidy hoses. With a Holley 650 four-barrel carburetor on top, a motor of this size has no trouble giving this full-size Ford some real get-up-and-go. Plus, the dual exhaust makes a powerful sound without losing the car's cruising attitude. There have been nice investments here, including an MSD ignition, so the motor is a strong runner. It feels solid on the road thanks to new inner and outer tie rods as well as steering bushings. Plus, you have a three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, and power brakes with a new CPP master cylinder.
There are photos and build receipts showing $$$$$ spent over a multi-year restoration. It makes for a cool cruising V8 droptop that you want to get your hands on right now. Call today!!!
