1965 Ford F100 Custom Cab Short Bed Additional Info:
About this vehicle
This 1965 Ford F100 is an original. The owner has had it for 1 year. The vehicle is drivable and is mainly used for car shows.Seller's Notes
This truck is believed to be and appears to be completely original. I am the third owner and have history on original and second owner.Exterior1965 F100 Custom Cab Short Bed. This truck is an honest, original, solid old truck. This is my first eBay sale attempt and I realize I have no ratings so I'm going to try to be as thorough as I possibly can. Lots to learn so bare with me.- The bed and tailgate are near perfect. There is a sheet of diamond plate steel bolted down in bed floor.- The front clip, fenders, hood, core support are in great shape with the only rust being on each inner fender near hood hinges. There is some old school pop riveted in, sheet metal repair in the core support behind one head light, which is barely noticeable. The holes in the front center of the hood are where the previous owner mounted a hood ornament. I still have the ornament.- The doors are near perfect with absolutely no rust. All of the gaskets around and in door appear to be original and are ready to be replaced. They shut tight and solid. They also lock with ignition key. The "rare" zipper door pockets are complete but the plastic is glued, patched, and repaired. That trim is in bad shape and I can not find replacements.- The windshield and gasket are brand new.- The cab itself has the most rust but not bad either. The floorboards has one spot with the old school repairs and the rust that's left you could not pass a bottle cap through. There is paint bubbling on passenger side A pillar near door hinge pocket. All rust can be seen in photos and none is structural.- Everything about the truck works as it should except for the cigarette lighter and radio. I have the radio out right now trying to find parts to fix it.- The truck has had two paint jobs, the second done by me which is not professional but is very presentable.- The motor starts easy and runs well. It does use approximately 1 quart per 1000 +/- but does not smoke except on long down hill, engine hold back situations. Probably crank seals leaking mostly.- The MX Cruise-o-matic transmission shifts like it should but leaks...quite a bit....while parked but I have toped it off and driven it on 150 mile round trips with no problems and very little fluid loss.- The radiator shows evidence of leakage (green corrosion) but I haven't had to add any water since I've owned it... go figure.InteriorEngineI don't know why the valve covers and air cleaner are painted red but where the red paint off peeling off it looks like they were originally the gold color.Custom Delivery Instructions
