1937 Ford Other Shortbed Pickup Additional Info:
‘Red Hills Rods & Classics’ is very happy to offer you this ultra-cool 1937 Ford ½ Ton Shortbed Pickup! You certainly don’t see these trucks around very often, especially a gorgeous example that is restored to this level.
Finished in its original two-tone color combination of Bright Vineyard Green & Black, this pickup is pure eye-candy folks! The full restoration was completed about five years ago, w/ much of the engine & transmission work completed in the last year or so. The original steel body panels are exceptionally straight all of the way around the truck, and during the restoration process, they chose to use fiberglass rear fenders due to the fact that they are a bit wider to fit beefier tires. In my opinion, these wider fenders look so much better. The Vineyard Green & Black paint is gorgeous w/ a bright & shiny appearance throughout, and the chrome bumpers & stainless trim pieces are in great condition as well. Brand new oak wood & aluminum slats were installed in the bed area, which looks outstanding. This pickup also has a wonderful stance, and sits on 15” chrome & black Outlaw-style wheels wrapped w/ Arizonian Silver Edition radial tires (P255/70/R15). You can walk around this truck a hundred times and you will never find a bad angle. The original chassis has been upgraded w/ a Heidts Mustang II front suspension kit, Heidts front disc brakes, Ford 9” rear-end w/ Wilwood rear disc brakes, which make for a much better ride in every way.
Open the driver’s door and you will find a beautiful original-style Mohair interior w/ all of the creature comforts needed for a comfortable ride. Interior features include: matching tan Mohair seat & door panels, body colored dash w/ original crank-out windshield, original cream-colored Ford gauges, original dual-control windshield wipers, chrome Ididit tilt-steering column, 3-spoke wood & chrome steering wheel, 24” Lokar shifter, Vintage AC & Heat, chrome door handles & window cranks, American Autowire wiring harness, and beautiful mocha-colored carpeting throughout. The gauges, windshield wipers, lights, blinkers, etc., are in perfect working order and the Vintage AC blows cold. This interior is super clean, extremely comfortable, and highly functional in every way.
Open the hood flaps and you will find a 350ci SBC (casting # 10066036) Target Master 4-bolt main motor bored 4.00 over w/ 8.5 compression. Engine features include: hydraulic flat-tappet camshaft, 194-202 valves, medium-rise aluminum intake manifold, Edelbrock 650cfm carburetor, Edelbrock finned aluminum valve covers & matching Edelbrock finned air cleaner assembly, stock ignition point distributor, high-volume oil pump, and custom-built headers. The motor is linked to a TH350 automatic transmission, which feeds power to the Ford 9” rear-end. She fires up instantly w/ the flick of the wrist, settling into a super smooth idle, and she runs, drives & performs beautifully in every way. This truck handles amazingly well, w/ no rattles, squeaks, unwanted noises or vibrations. It is an absolute BLAST to drive and gets all the attention that you can handle. Again, you rarely if ever see these pickups out on the road, so to own an example that is so aesthetically pleasing, as well as one that runs & drives like a brand-new truck, is a rare opportunity indeed.
So whether you are searching for a vintage pickup that can win ‘First Place’ awards at any car event that you decide to enter, or simply a vintage truck that can be driven & enjoyed to the fullest w/out worrying about reliability, it will be very hard to beat this gorgeous 1937 Ford ½ Ton Shortbed Pickup!
