1979 Ford F-100 Custom Additional Info:
Relisting due to non paying bidder. Please don't bid if you don't intend to follow through with the transaction. Here's a very nice project truck for sale. It's been one family owned since new. Always been in Northern California and never driven in snow. '79 Ford F-100 Custom Flare Side 2WD short bed pickup. It still has all the original paint and all original sheet metal. Never been in an accident either. It has a 302 V8 2V carb, auto transmission, power steeringand brakes. Disc in front and drum in rear. I just rebuilt the front brakes and fuel system (New calipers, rotors, brake lines, bearings etc.) New fuel tank also. I am including an extra carburetor as a spare for backup or parts. Steering box has been rebuilt with new hoses. The motor runs great and sound great with new exhaust system and flow master style muffler. It's fairly quite but slightly aggressive. I just installed a new old stock Ford dash bezel. I think the dash gaugeswill need to be re-installed because after I put dash back together the back ground illumination is no longer working. The temp, amp and gas gauge also not working. I have not had time to work to correct the issue. It could be as simple as a loose connection. I have the factory radio out of the truck but will be included. This truck is 97% rust free, I included pics of the floor boards for reference. No rust in rocker panels either. The only 3 spots of rust is a 2 inch rust spot above the A-pillar above windshieldas seen in photo. The other two areas are in the inside the front of the rear fenders. The brace got rusted due to mud collecting inside fender well. A very easy sheet metal repair. People have asked why it sits up high like a 4 wheel drive? I don't know but my uncle, who was the original owner, had it lifted in the 80's. I can only guess that he used F-150 4x4 front and rear springs. It has 31x10.5x15 highway tires with brand new Pro Comp 15"X8" aluminumrims. Tires are in great shape with tons of tread. As I mentioned, this is a project truck, It will need body and upholstery work. The front seat has tears, I installed a retro style seat cover and some left over carpet I had laying around. Headliner is worn out and dash pad cracked. There's a dent in the lower driver door which can be pulled out. The original wood bed had rotted and was taken out a long tine ago and a large single sheet of ply wood added. It's is also rotted and will need replacement. I also have the original vinyl toneau cover that I will inlcude. The 302 V8 runs great, good power and idles smooth. The trans shifts good but very soft during 2nd-3rd gear shift. I have only changed fluid and filter. This truck would benefit from adding an A.O.D. transmission because it seems to be geared low. The engine was rebuilt in the early 90's but I do not know how many miles it has since rebuild. If you have any other questions please feel free to email me. I will assist buyer with shipping arrangements but all cost is the responsibility of the buyer. Truck is being sold AS-IS. Being sold with NO RESERVE. Buyer must send $500 deposit and close of auction and the balance within 5 days unless other arrangements are made.
