1966 Ford Mustang -- Additional Info:
I sold this car 15 years ago to the gentleman we just acquired it from
He is only the third owner of the car. It was a California car that was ground up restored, has it's original metal. Full of great features and it's documented with a window sticker.
EXTERIOR: Even though the restoration is about 20 years old this body and paint looks like it was just done yesterday. That really says a lot about its integrity. Claimed have all of it's original metal. There's no bubbles or cracking appearing anywhere that I could find, the panels line up perfectly. Every square inch is laser straight. The paint still has a beautiful hard gloss finish like a mirror, no shrinking. It hasn't even been buffed in over 15 years and it still is like glass. Every piece of trim is excellent. White convertible top is excellent. Has GT wheels with reproduction tires.
INTERIOR: Very classy palomino Pony Deluxe interior. This includes running horses on the upgraded seats, molded door panels with the knife handle door openers, wood grain on the dash and center console and the deluxe wood steering wheel. This one also features deluxe seat belts front and back. Red carpet and reproduction floor mats. Rare Am 8-track radio which also included speakers in the doors. The interior is virtually still like new condition. The dash is beautiful the knobs and chrome bezels sparkle. Dash pad, kick panels, visors are excellent. The chrome air conditioning unit below the dash is a factory option.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Restored and detailed as if it just rolled out of the factory. It even has FoMoco hoses, reproduction clamps, Autolite battery topper, FoMoco battery cables, the right stampings and decals. The 289 V8 motor has all the proper manifolds, air cleaner, valve covers neatly painted. The engine bay is perfectly clean smooth metal painted satin black. Has rare factory air conditioning system and very desirable power steering. Everything about it is neat, tidy and proper. Even the washer bag and the squirters are hooked up. The hinges are in the raw gray finish. Bottom of the hood is painted gloss. All the nuts, bolts and hardware are excellent.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: All the metal is clean and painted gloss red. Well liner, weatherstrip, rubber mat and insulated pad is like new. They spent the extra and even bought brand new GT wheel and reproduction tire that matches the others, for a spare. Has jack and wrench in the pouch.
UNDERSIDE: Bone dry virgin metal, not even pitted. The floors, frame rails, torque boxes, rockers are mint. The factory seams and spotwelds are crisp. At the time of restoration it was done to factory concourse condition. Proper finishes one the chassis components, floors are sprayed in primer. The entire front end was completely rebuilt. Bottom of the motor and transmission are spotless. Has correct exhaust system.
I have the utmost respect for this car. The gentleman I sold it to a averaged 265 miles a year. It still looks and performs like new. The colors and options make this a highly desirable Mustang.
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle.
Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail.
