1956 Ford Thunderbird Base Additional Info:
This beautiful 1956 Ford Thunderbird originated in Tampa Florida when it was purchased by a dentist who drove it for a few decades occasionally back and forth to his dental practice. The gentleman became ill with a lengthy illness and this car sat in his garage on blocks for 10 years. This vehicle was then purchased from the estate by a gentleman in Central Florida who spent quite a while completely restoring it and it sat in his garage for about 15 years rarely out in the weather which might explain why it is a rust free car. The car is a basic Thunderbird from that era with a three speed manual transmission and roll up windows which makes it kind of rare and gives it a lot of character. The car drives, shifts, and starts extremely well and the low miles on the car means the suspension is tight and rattle free which is rare of a car of the 50s era. This vehicle is a very very nice driver grade car. This car shows well and we have no doubt it could win awards in car shows and is fun on Sunday drives. This vehicle has both the convertible and the hardtop and this car is the first year of the porthole window in the Thunderbirds. The 55, 56, and 57 Thunderbird's are some of the rarest cars out there since they were only built three years and have never been duplicated. The cars were originally built to combat Chevrolets Corvettes. The 1956 Thunderbird would be a great addition to anyone's collection.
