1964 Ford Fairlane 500 Gasser Big Block FE Additional Info:
Currently for sale on Craig’s List Monterey locally as well. For sale is a 1964 Ford Fairlane Hardtop gasser!! Extremely solid car with a ton of character. This is a Ca original car with original black plates (I have both plates). It has been stored in a container since I acquired it waiting for restoration. Unfortunately I have so many projects I probably won’t get to this awesome car. It was owned by a southern Ca drag racer for years and has a great story behind the car. It is originally a factory 289 car that was converted to a big block FE car with four speed. Currently it has an econoline or f100 straight axle under it with a 1964 thunderbird special FE 390 in it. The transmission was not there when I got the car. It is set up for a manual gear box. My plans where to finish the current needs of the car to get it running and enjoy the car with big block ford power and as a gasser as the original owner had done. If you wanted to, it could easily be converted back to stock form if you took out the straight axle, leafs and replaced the shock towers. Or get an aftermarket kit and make it modern suspension where they make you remove the towers anyhow. This car has not been molested. Just used. The body is really straight. There are traces of rust in one fender and on one quarter lip above wheel opening. Very very light traces. The floorboards are really solid with the exception of the drivers toe board will need to be replaced or patched where there is the beginnings of a small hole there. The interior is fairly complete with buckets from another car and factory everything else. It could use some freshening throughout including a new headliner. The trunk floor and inner quarters look really good. The roof looks really solid as well with no issues at all that I have seen. These cars are really getting hard to find. Please ask any question you may have. Title is clean and currently on non operating status.
