1966 Mustang 2 door coupe with 6 cylinder engine and automatic transmission
HISTORY:
Restoration just completed on this super clean barn find! Original New Mexico car that was in the same family from Belen, NM since it was purchased new. The car was driven from next to the stacks of hay where it was sitting in Belen to Seboyeta, NM in 2001 and parked in a garage with plans of being restored until health issues changed those plans. The car was then acquired in 2018, with work beginning in September, 2018, and completion in June, 2019. This pony has the original engine and transmission in it and was restored (with attention to detail) to look like it would have when it rolled off the assembly line! All original parts were used except those that needed to be replaced. The only rust on the body was at the rear lower part of the driver side rear wheel well / fender lip seam, which was dug out, treated with rust stop and filled. In general, the factory raw metal parts were cleaned and painted with a ceramic silver paint to look like raw metal in order to prevent corrosion.

New paint job back to the original factory color "Sahara Beige" with urethane paint and activator resulting in a quality of probably an 8 to 8.5 out of 10 for an original 1966 factory quality paint job. There are a few dings in the body that were overlooked during the paint prep, but are hard to notice. There are also some scratches on the original glass pieces as to be expected for a 53 year old car.
The Mustang starts right up and runs and drives great! SHOW IT, DRIVE IT, ENJOY IT!
