This frame-off restored 1954 Ford F100 Stepside pickup offers a great-looking Sea Sprite Green paint job, classic black interior, and a reliable all-Ford driveline that's as good as new. For about the same price as a used pickup in today's market, you can have this awesome cruiser with a finished oak bed and loads of character and period-correct vintage style. Ford hit it out of the park with the redesigned F100, giving it a look that has been... timeless with collectors and hot-rodders for decades. With a slightly cab-forward look that gives it a bulldog attitude and the appearance of great power and performance, it works especially well with period-correct pastel colors like the Sea Sprite Green on this pickup. The fat fenders are still old-fashioned-looking, with rounded surfaces blending into the hood, it's one of those rare designs where there's not a single line or curve out of place. This beauty was just completely finished in 2017, and it still looks fresh enough to show with pride at the car shows, and you'll live climbing in and heading out to the local cruise scene where folks will admire the glossy oak bed, the Ford-script taillights, and the contrasting white grille and headlight surround, which is both an original touch and a nod to traditional rodding. Simple chrome bumpers, a glistening bright shine on the paint, and the perfect stance make this a truck you won't be able to resist taking for a spin. Finished in black, the interior is also a nice blend of new and old, covering the original bench with modern black vinyl upholstery that's a lot more comfortable than the original covers. Door panels are softened with more matching fabric, off-set with bright billet handles for the door and window controls, and the headliner and back of the cab is fully upholstered as well for a warm, enveloping feeling inside the interior. The instrument panel is a freshened stock item, neatly framed by the totally '50s 3-spoke Ford steering wheel, and the shifter that manages the 3-speed manual transmission joins it on the long column. There's no radio or A/C, because that's not the point of this truck, but if you feel these creature comforts are must-haves, aftermarket units from a variety of reputable vendors bolt-in very easily. The engine is a 292 cubic inch Ford Y-block V8 perhaps borrowed from a Thunderbird and dressed with stock black Ford valve covers. A 2-barrel carburetor, open-element air cleaner, and stock manifolds work together to deliver horsepower, and the simple engine bay remains easy to service, with a beautiful presentation highlighted by the orange block and painted inner fenders and firewall. A 3-speed manual gearbox makes it entertaining to drive and gives it an old-school feel, and thanks to a newer exhaust with a chambered muffler, it sounds great. There's still a rigid axle at both ends, hanging on leaf springs, and it was set perfectly after the frame-off restoration for a fantastic stance that totally nails the look that you want in your old truck. The chassis is completely painted to match the top and detailed for show, and no rust or signs of previous accident damage means that this truck has led a good life under the tutelage of conscientious former owners. Wide-white L78-15 bias-ply tires are the quintessential look for an original truck like this, and they're wrapped around paint-matched steelies adorned with chrome "Baby Moon" Ford hubcaps and beauty rings to finish the vintage look. Just a beautifully restored Ford pickup that's ready to be showed and enjoyed today. Traditional, sure, but still able to work, have fun, and turn heads in equal measure. Call today!
