There's a pretty good reason why so much anticipation is focused on the re-release of the Bronco after nearly a quarter century. It was a rugged, supremely cool looking ride throughout its tenure and this 1991 Ford Bronco Eddie Bauer really captures its essence. Still wearing its original color scheme and harboring fuel injected power beneath its hood, it stands ready to combine its timeless appeal with plenty of road-readiness, whether your plans call for weekend excursions or more frequent... driving. This vintage Ford features a red exterior that's accented by tan running along its rocker panels and shell - a combo that exemplifies classic SUV aesthetics. The color scheme is draped over a form that was decidedly modern for its time, with compact rectangular headlights up front and a broad, subtly curved hood area. It's a great looking SUV - still noticeably different in configuration than any of today's offerings, with its muscular, relatively unornamented shape, yet appears every bit as capable. Its accompanying hard top is in clean condition, fitting neatly over the bed while featuring fresh rubber seals throughout, and a number of other exterior elements reflect the model's purpose-oriented heritage, including the Warn locking front hubs and Westin step bars that not only add curb appeal, but also make getting in and out a breeze. This is quite a finished looking workhorse as well, with flush body panels, doors that open and shut smoothly, and badging that still pops nicely against its dark backdrop. It's more than likely the tan interior hasn't seen any professional attention during its years of service, yet it remains in very good condition, with only the slightest signs of use. The front buckets are plush and comfortable and still have plenty of life left in them and the center console in between them is in great shape, too, providing some welcome interior storage space, as well as a pair of cupholders. Up front, the dash area is another strong suit, with a collection of functional factory gauges still in place inside the instrument panel and a crack free pad spanning the top. While you can see some subtle wear in the rear storage area - this vehicle is more than 35 years old, after all - it's still pretty clean and as you lower the liftgate, you'll notice it's glossy and blemish free. A couple of the comfort and convenience features will need a bit of attention to regain their form - in the case of the air conditioning system, just a simple Freon charge should be all that's needed - and once that's done, this will be a nicely equipped SUV. This Bronco runs well and sounds great in action. Raise the hood and you'll find a fuel injected 5.8 liter V8 inside the engine compartment, a time-tested powerplant featured in quite a number of Ford's heavy duty products. It starts promptly and pulls effortlessly as it pairs with a 4-speed automatic transmission whose RPM-sparing overdrive gear is easily activated by a button on the dash. When the urge to leave the asphalt and head for more rugged terrain strikes you, this Ford's 4-wheel drive surefootedness is unleashed via a lever perched within easy reach on the transmission tunnel. Power brakes that offer discs up front and power steering provide good street manners in everyday driving conditions. This awesome SUV classic sits on a set of 15" alloy wheels, wrapped with Mastercraft mud tires. Looking for a sturdy SUV that combines rugged curb appeal with bona fide off-road capability?
