1991 Ford Taurus SHO Additional Info:

1991 Ford Taurus SHO PLUS - Rare Deep Jewel Green - 1 of 900.

History: I purchased this car in Feb 2004 with 129,790 miles. Currently shows almost 144,940. Car has always been stored outside, not garaged. I am the third owner. Comes with window sticker and owners manual. Has PA classic tags since my ownership. This has always been a good reliable car for me and deserves a better life than I can give it. Has not been driven on a regular basis for the past four years. This is an original Plus, 1 of 900 in Deep Jewel Green and retains all its original Plus parts.

Options: Package 212 which includes high level audio, floor mats, illuminated entry, auto lamp, moon roof, power antenna, JBL audio, electronic climate control, keyless entry, dual power seats and clear coat paint.

Exterior: The clear coat has failed and is gone on the upper surfaces. The wheels are the original 1991 only Canadian slicers with plain caps. The rear rockers are rusted through. The dog legs inside the rear doors are rusted through. The inner door seams and trunk seams have typical rust. And there are various surface rust spots on the body.

Interior: Interior is Mocha cloth. It needs a good cleaning. The headliner is failing at the rear. It retains the original stereo. All is functional but the sound is weak, amp is inoperative. Rear speaker covers are perfect (hard to find nice).Air bag lamp is flashing. The temp gage is inoperative, probably the sender.

Mechanical: The mechanicals of the car were in great condition. The car was fun to drive. Mufflers are Flowmasters and has a deep rumble. The struts are Tokico with stock springs. The AC clutch needs replaced and the cruise is inoperative. It will need an upper 60K as oil is seeping into the plug wells but it drove fine otherwise. Lower 60K was performed 2,000 miles ago. Rod shifter is stock. I’ve always used Castrol synthetic oil. Recently developed a fuel line leak, the plastic line under the passenger side door area. Will require a battery and tires will need to be replaced.

Conclusion:Car runs and drives but will need trailered. Could restore, use as a track car, drivetrain for another application or part out. All Plus parts still intact: fiberglass hood, fiberglass trunk spoiler, front fender and trunk badging, stainless side window trim. Also has the one year only plain wheel center caps, rod shifter, Flowmaster mufflers, Tokico struts and a new windshield. I’m reducing my vehicle collection and engaging in a new business venture. Unfortunately, I no longer have the time for the fun stuff. : ) I urge a personal inspection prior to purchase. I deal in NOS, new and used Taurus SHO parts, literature and collectibles.
