1930 Ford Roadster Additional Info:

1930 Ford Roadster

The Model A was the first Ford to use the standard set of driver controls with conventional clutch and brake pedals, throttle, and gearshift. Previous Fords used controls that had become uncommon to drivers of other makes. The Model A's fuel tank was situated in the cowl, between the engine compartment's fire wall and the dash panel. It had a visual fuel gauge, and the fuel flowed to the carburetor by gravity. A rear-view mirror was optional. In cooler climates, owners could purchase an aftermarket cast iron unit to place over the exhaust manifold to provide heat to the cab. A small door provided adjustment of the amount of hot air entering the cab. The Model A was the first car to have safety glass in the windshield.

A Brookville body and chassis reproduction Ford Model A sans original fenders, and running boards, which have been replaced by close wrap around fenders that move with the front tires, and cutoff rear fenders that hover above larger rear tires. All fiberglass and curved steel buttoned up and customized and we offer a super looking hot rod.

Exterior
A light persimmon paint shines like a new copper penny on this all fiberglass reproduction body. Up front we see a nicely framed in chrome 32 grille shell and radiator unit, flanked by chromed open halogen headlights residing next to a shaved hood, which makes its way back to a chrome framed windshield, black bows deluxe convertible removable top, and curved rear that houses a super cool mother in law rumble seat. Framing the front and back are rounded tube style bumpers that keep it simple and match the silver undercarriage and suspension. Noted on all 4 corners are American Racing polished 5 spoke wheels. Last but not least, two chrome tipped exhaust pipes peek out from underneath the rear bumper and blast out some growling sounds...in stereo.

Interior
Totally custom and totally tasteful rad, we see the work of Chubbs Custom Trim shop, in the form of gray over black stitched door panels, complete with embroidery of a flaming piston and a lightning bolt. Turning out attention to the inside a large super padded glide front bench fits perfectly between the door panels. Fronting this bench is a silver dash with a horizontal lineup of Autometer white faced gauges and multicolored lights, with a VDO tachometer hanging below. A banjo style steering wheel on an adjustable column with billet style aluminum machined turn signal and adjuster levers sticking out from it. On the floor we note black carpet and sitting proudly in the center is a Lokar shifter with a custom piston topper.

Drivetrain
A clean and gleaming 350ci V8 is nestled into the engine bay, and has some tricks added by a Boltman rebuild, including World Products Heads with D ports, topped by a 300-36 Holley contender intake and an Edelbrock 650 Thunder series carb with Endurashine. Sending the fire is an HEI distributor and backing up the healthy mill is a rebuilt Turbo 350 automatic transmission.

Undercarriage
A perfectly painted narrowed Brookville 32 Ford Chassis holds coil over shocks in the rear, with a 9" Ford rear, and triangulated 4 bar suspension. Wilwood front disc brakes, and Ford 10' drum brakes on the rear all with silicone fluid filled lines.

A nicely done build, totally custom, great color combination and a tricked-out mill, all buttoned up and ready for some showin', and goin'. Just like a new copper penny...heads? or tails?
