1973 was a great year for the Ford Mustang!
Many changes would be made the following year and people took notice.
The Mach cars were very popular but rag top models got a great deal of attention as well.
This particular pony car is special for many reasons but its limited ownership and overall condition are very much noteworthy.
If you've been waiting for just the right opportunity to join in on all the fun DON'T MISS OUT!!!! The smart buyer is encouraged to call (314) 649-8227 "she's is up for sale and immediate purchaseâ€!!! It will be listed on other websites and abroad so if a deal can be struck the auction will cease!
Many things can be said about this vintage Ford. It hails from St. Louis Missouri DSO # (55).
The car was sold new at Pudman Ford in St. Charles Mo.
Right out of the gate a husband and wife team both began to enjoy it. There were many Polaroid pictures of them sharing special moments with this beauty!
After almost two decades of ownership a collective decision was made to put it up for sale.
By virtue of that a new lucky owner took over possession sometime around 1990.
There is not a great deal of information that can be given about his time spent with it. What we do is that he worked for the public school system.
Long story (short) upon retirement he took the Mustang with him to McHenry Illinois.
During that period a high quality restoration was started. It wouldn't commence for almost an entire year.
The meticulous process can easily be appreciated at first blush and once you sit behind the wheel!
This pony still sports its factory (9-A) Wimbledon white covering. The shade could have been considered rather bland originally but a commingled blend of black accents quickly kills that sentiment!
The albescent ivory exterior is smooth and delicate to the touch (each body panel uniform).
All lines and gaps are consistent with factory tooling specifications.
There is little doubt that the vehicle was media blasted before being covered in enamel.
An iconic NASA hood peeks out front with gloss black highlights "looks incredibleâ€!
A nostalgic front chin spoiler helps to guard the baseline from debris and rock chips.
A rear spoiler is positioned on the deck lid that helps us to recall a time when cars had character.
MACH 1 style hockey stripes grace the body and brings the appearance package altogether!
This particular Mustang constantly keeps camera phones working and compliments coming (everyone loves it)!
A well protected Raven black honeycomb style tail panel and new gas cap can be found at the rear.
Wonderfully adorned grille moldings and MACH 1 fender badges make this one a real winner!
Finally I must make mention of this Mustangs pallid white convertible top.
It shields the vehicle perfectly and is in excellent condition.
The top was replaced recently and serviced less than a month ago.
Many enthusiasts tend to overlook the need to service the top pump, cylinders & lines regularly.
Failure to do so can cause poor operation and expensive repairs.
There's no need to worry with this one it has been maintained properly & lowers in perfect fashion (a convertible parade boot is included).
The door glass and front windshield are crystal clear along with the rear curtain.
All lights & signal markers spring to life on command. The rear bumper has been replaced with an N.O.S. quality component.
At the end of the day this vintage Mustang is ready to be fully enjoyed!
She looks great, runs strong & garners praise every time it hits the road! Let's take a final peek:
SHOW OR GO!
Now that we have covered the bases concerning the exterior let's see what she has to offer inside!
This model came equipped with Fords deluxe interior! The upscale luxury equipment really works well on this model and compliments the exterior wonderfully!
Once the door is opened you can't miss the fact it's donned with oxford white upholstery & deluxe high back buckets!
Both seats (front and rear) are in great shape and void of excessive wear or damage.
The checkered buckets seats are really welcoming and comfortable.
The door panels (with speakers) are in pristine condition and have new attaching hardware.
Front & center you will find factory gauges, center console and a flawless steering wheel!
The dash pad is in excellent condition and damage free.
A nostalgic yet modern radio sits below and works on command.
To top things off a set of black embossed pony floor mats were added to safeguard the loop pile carpet.
The quarter trim is in superb condition and both rear windows are on track.
In closing I would call the overall interior condition nice and presentable.
Now....... once you say the word classic Mustang "everyone wants to know" what's underneath the hoodâ€!
This particular blue oval product was fortunate enough to leave Fords assembly plant with the revered 351 power plant!
The H Code block is held in high esteem by almost every collector involved with the hobby.
This particular block has been completely rebuilt and performs wonderfully! Chrome valve covers grace the engine bay and watermark decals are still in place.
Being cared for through the years makes this one a pleasure to drive! It is extremely reliable and very dependable!
The motor maintains a nice consistent idle upon ignition. Much preventative maintenance has been applied.
It has new plugs, wires, distributor, water pump, fuel filter, battery, thermostat, coil, alternator, starter, voltage regulator, etc.
The factory air conditioning unit has been recently charged and it blows ice cold!
Chambered performance mufflers have been installed underneath with new exhaust pipes!
TAKE A LISTEN!
In most Ford guys opinion no wheel works better on the big body cars than the race ready Magnum 500!
We refused to buck the trend so a flawless set of 15 inch rims can be easily detected on this model. New raised white letter performance tires hug the rims appropriately!
Handling is also optimal as the suspension has received a clean bill of health "road worthyâ€!
Again this vehicle is ready to be enjoyed fully! The time, resources and care that have been given through the years can't properly be measured "rare opportunityâ€!
Here's yet more good news "she's solid underneathâ€! Great floors, torque boxes & frame rails. Don't ruin your experience by investing in a rusty vehicle!
ALL INSPECTIONS WELCOMED!
